The acorn doesn't fall far from the tree. Dodd's father, Tom Dodd was one of CT's senators when he had to be censured by the US Senate for misappropriation of campaign funds. This PEEK-A-BOO stunt was a major embarrassment for Dodd. Since he is not willing to be open about his special treatment as a "Friend of Angelo" then he should resign his Senate seat. The public should demand answers and a full disclosure of all documents. The only way I can see that he can avoid sharing this information is to resign, and even then the Justice Dept should be investigating for possible criminal violations. Just one more of a long line of embarrassments for the Democratic Party.
Wasn't it Connecticut Senator Prescott Bush (George W's Grandfather) who was involved with the censure of Senator Tom Dodd (Chris Dodd's father) for misappropriation of his campaign funds. When the Connecticut voters tossed Senator Tom Dodd out of office in the election, they replaced him with Republican Senator Lowell P. Weicker Jr.
Those who fail to learn from history are destined to repeat it. Now we are stuck with another Dodd in the Senate, and yet another financial scandal involving a Dodd. Apparently, the ACORN doesn't fall far from the tree.
I'm sure his father would have been a good friend of Angelo if he were still alive today, and boy would he be proud of his son's ability to cut sweetheart deals for himself.
How can Dodd use his excess campaign funds for legal services for his PERSONAL financial problems?
Once again, the aristocracy of the Washington is acting elitist.
The arrogance continues.
It amazes me that all these multi multi millionaire Senators debate how THEY should stimulate the economy. "let them eat cake".
Here's a newsflash.. give US back our money and WE will spend it. We don't need your help. YOU need to oversee the financial system. YOU need to provide accountability for the financial system.
What I see is YOU guys created the financial meltdown through a lack of oversight, a federal policy that allowed people that couldn't afford a home a MORTGAGE, allowed senior management of these failing banks to skim off for their "bonuses".
How can Dodd use his excess campaign funds for legal services for his PERSONAL financial problems? Like father, like son. This is exactly what his father was censured for before the US Senate and ultimately led to him losing his election to Lowell Weicker!

To answer Senator Rennie's question, why can't we trust Chris Dodd? Because he is even sleazier than his father was, that's why!
