Newington's Council Member, Maureen Klett, is continuing her threat she made before the New Britain Common Council to oppose the Costco purchase of the Newington land from the state DOT.
Newington is asking for better rates from the Golf Course for Newington Residents.
With Alderman David DeFronzo and Alderwoman Eva Magnuszewski voting "no" to the Costco resolution at the last Council meeting this week has many residents wondering what role will DeFronzo's father will play in obstructing the Costco Plan "B".

Costco will never succeed in building this store, and if by some miracle they did, that is when the radicals will come out of the woodwork to protest this evil rich employer. Do they really not realize what they are likely in for if they succeed in opening this store?
Wait until they find out that they will be told by the radicals who they will and will not hire. Think that they know they are turning over the management decisions of this store to the radical socialists of New Britain?
Let's give Costco management more credit than to cave into these slobs, socialists and gym teachers.
As for Newington, give them a break on their golf fees. I don't care. I just want a Costco in the area, one that offers jobs and property tax relief.
Besides, those last three holes on the Red nine were all hills and isolated! No one will miss them!
I have my doubts that mush for brains even understands her reason for voting against this other than being a puppet following orders from her socialist puppeteer.
Sounds like the people of Newington understand that this bus to nowhere is the biggest waste of money Connecticut has ever seen.
Interesting comment with regard to the busway. You want Costco, we do not want the busway. Interesting. Maybe there are new negotiations to be held w/ regard to the busway making it not a done deal after all. Interesting.
The two are unrelated projects one private and one public. To try and tie the hands of a private company shows your ignorance of capitalism last commenter. You must be a democrat to make such a ridiculous statement. Better yet run for the Newington Town Council I bet peole like that would agree with you!
