BRIDGEPORT - The chief state's attorney will start a criminal investigation into Bridgeport state Rep. Christina Ayala in her ongoing voter fraud case.
A state elections commission says it found Ayala falsely registered to vote at a Bridgeport address where she was not a resident. The commission says Ayala said she lived there in order to apply for funding for her campaign.
Ayala is accused of voting nine times in that district.
