THE SECOND ETHICS HEARING RESULTS ARE IN!
Unfortunately, Alderman’s Salvio’s complaint did not include the conflicts that an alderperson has from serving on the city Council and being employed by the city at the same time however, the ethics commission did find that Alderman Paul Cantanzaro has indeed violated two provisions of the code of ethics as covered under section 2-449 [A] and 2-449[K] as a result in Alderman’s Salvio’s complaint to the Commission filed against Alderman Catanzaro.
The Board’s findings have recommended that the alderman be reprimanded and forwarded their finding to the Common Council for its action.
It will be very interesting in watching the democratic leadership of the common council bury the commission’s recommendation under the rug since it has been rumored that this alderman may become the Democratic Party’s Standard Bearer with his intended run for the mayor’s office next November.
Well alderman you are still bearing the conflict of being a city employee and serving on the city common council at the same time and I find it very hard to visualize seeing the voters walk onto this lumpy rug, that the democrats shoved all your misgivings under, on their way to the polls on Election Day.
It is with a great deal of doubt that any positive action will be undertaken by the council’s leadership at this coming Wednesday night's Council Meeting but maybe; just maybe, the voters will not forget come next November.

It's doubtful the Democrats on the Council will reprimand Alderman Catanzaro...Why should they start now? They didn't reprimand Rich Lopes when he was found in violation of ethics about 2-3 years ago. Not to worry...election campaigning will start fairly soon, and the voters won't forget all that's going on. I suspect many of the Democrats on the council will not be re-elected.

These Council Democrats have a history of "inaction" when it comes to policing and disciplining their own ethics lapses. Look for another ethics lapse being "swept under the rug."
Where is the outrage from Phil Sherwood and his merry men! Ethics violations!! And not a single quote from the new voice of the New Britain Democratic Party! I think the self-proclaimed sheriff has shown his true colors.

The mood in New Britain is going to get ugly,
Hard working middle class people are beginning to get tired of the ineffective loony left types that Democratic town chairmen McNamara has brought to town.
What’s next Mr. Sherwood? A ban on fried food? Free city based healthcare? As a conservative I didn’t vote for you or your ilk but I am sure that the folks I know who did didn’t expect anti war resolutions and grants for the local cat lady so she can feed stray cats.
If Mr. Sherwood is going to be the voice of the Democrats then we as citizens need to inform him that we are not on the left coast. The issues that are important to average town citizen have more to do with fixing an ailing infrastructure, providing services such as trash pickup, coordinating school funding to provide a quality education and as he proclaimed in his campaign provide transparency and oversight for ALL public officials.
Mr. McNamara call off the attack dog and let’s get down to business.
Mr. Catanzaro do the right thing. Either relinquish your seat on the council or resign from the board.

Frank: There is no Democratic Council leadership! Bielinski is busy nauseating everybody with her diarrhea of the mouth, Trueworthy is in la la land and the rest of them want nothing to do with Sherwack's shenanigans - and he wants ethics rules that mirror Hartford's! What a bad joke! Can't wait to see what the Ds do about Catanzero.
Note: my previous blog asked Mr. Catanzaro to either relinquish his council seat or his position on a board. It should have said Relinquish your position on the council or resign from your position as a city employee.
It's been wondered by some if John MacNamara is training Sherwood to be the next Chairman of the Democratic Town Committee...YUK!! I hope not!!

THIS IS EXACTLY HOW SHERWOOD EARNED THE NAME PHONY PHIL. HE IS THE SELF-PROCLAIMED CZAR OF NEW BRITAIN ETHICS, BUT ONLY WHEN HE HAS SOME DIRT ON A REPUBLICAN. DEMOCRATS ARE FREE TO BREAK THE LAW AND NOT A PEEP OUT OF THE PHONY. HOPEFULLY THE VOTERS WILL REMEMBER WHAT A PHONY MR. SHERWACK IS ON ELECTION DAY.

Did anyone think to ask the ethics commission to look into all the reports that this guy is seen all over town goofing off at restaurants when he is supposed to be working? If the ethics commission doesn't want to investigate that, maybe the state's attorney's office will.
Do the right thing, as if a self serving fat kat like you would know what the right thing was?

Frank. Catanzero is a perfect example of what happens to people when they think that getting elected to office makes them omniscient and omnipotent, i.e., disaster! Catanzero is a sad case and he doesn't realize that like certain of his predecessors on the D Council, he has outlived his usefulness and will be thrown under the bus by his party.
The fact that this jerk would even consider running for mayor, instead of resigning and going away quietly, just exemplifies how out of touch with reality he really is.
All this worry about Caranzaro running for Mayor...just put him side by side with Timothy Stewart...no questions asked...and who looks most professional?
It will be a great victorious day for the Republican Party that this sleaze is the best the Democrats could come up with. Let him run and embarrass himself and his party. The rest of us will be laughing!
Is it true that Lisa carver will challenge Tim Stewart for a run at the mayors seat?I hope the republicans don't let this happen,all you have to do is look at the two of them side by side,who looks more professional?
