The Blind are not protected by the NB Housing Authority Due to Lack of Notice

After the publicity on this blog pointing out the exposure for blind persons being caused medical needs in the event of their walking into Housing Authority parked vehicles on the sidewalk in front of the D’Amato Building.

The Housing Authority neglected to immediately advise all their building guards of their new edict. And they also neglected to send proper notification to all the tenants within the building.

The reasoning for the aforementioned is due to an incident that occurred this past Saturday afternoon with a tenant parking his of her vehicle on the very same sidewalk. When asking the building guard on duty about the car that is parked on the sidewalk I was advised that it was a “tenant bringing some stuff in”.

Well what if a blind individual should be attempting to walk by during this same occurrence?

The Housing Authority management needs to correct the continued adverse allowance of parking of any vehicles.

With the exception to all emergency vehicles in the event no alternative parking spaces are available during the answering of emergency events.

  1. 2009 Stimulus Bill Would Give Payments to Illegal Aliens...who file tax returns with an individual taxpayer identification number...

WASHINGTON - The $800 billion-plus economic stimulus measure making its way through Congress could steer government checks to illegal immigrants, a top congressional official asserted Thursday 01/28/09.

The legislation, which would send tax credits of $500 per worker and $1,000 per couple, expressly disqualifies nonresident aliens, but it would allow people who don't have Social Security numbers to be eligible for the checks.

Undocumented immigrants who are not eligible for a Social Security number can file tax returns with an alternative number. A House-passed version of the economic recovery bill and one making its way now through the Senate would allow anyone with such a number, called an individual taxpayer identification number, to qualify for the tax credits.

A revolt developed among GOP conservatives to similar provisions of a 2008 economic stimulus bill, which sent rebate checks to most wage earners, forced Democratic congressional leaders to add stricter eligibility requirements. That legislation, enacted in February 2008, required that people have valid Social Security numbers in order to get checks.

Republicans have already blasted the package for including what they argue is wasteful spending and omitting tax cuts for businesses they say are needed to jump-start the anemic economy.

Not a single Republican voted for an $819 billion version of the Stimulus Bill when it passed the House on Wednesday 01/28/09.

GOP senators have arranged a midday news conference to voice their concerns about piles of pork in 2009 Stimulus Bill.

  2. WASHINGTON - Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell said Sunday 02/01/09 that the massive stimulus bill backed by President Barack Obama and congressional Democrats could go down to defeat if it's not stripped of unnecessary pork spending and focused more on housing issues and business issues and tax cut.

  3. Why can't the police department simply tag and tow these offenders, what is so difficult about this?

  4. The Who's Who of consumer products companies are paying $3 million a shot for their TV commercials for Super Bowl airtime, but Rush Limbaugh has the president of the United States advertising his show for free...

    That's Rush Limbaugh genius...

  5. Rush Limbaugh doesn't need advetising. He has the largest radio audience in America, followed by Sean Hannity, Mark Levin and the Laura Ingrham.

One thing is missing from all the top talk shows, and that is a liberal. I have heard 2 explanations for that.

The first is that any liberal show is nothing but crying and complaining about how everyone is a victim of everything, and the other is that the audiences listening to these top 4 shows are listening while they drive to work, and since most liberals either do not work at all or otherwise somehow live off the government, they aren't driving anywhere to be listening to a regular radio program.

Andy Warkow, another top radio host (The Warkow Majority) had a great suggestion. His idea was that everyone who is on welfare should be required to perform manual labor for a conservative who works and pays taxes, as a way of repaying that conservative for making it possible for the liberal to not work and be supported by the conservative who works so the liberal doesn't have to.

    What an idea!

  8. In addition to the blind, don't they have handicapped people in wheelchairs living in that building who would have trouble maneuvering around a pick-up truck in front of the doorway? Where is the police or the parking authority???????

  9. I would think even the Fire Marshal would have a problem with vehicles parking in front of the door to a high rise apartment building????

Doesn't anyone in this city care?
