WASHINGTON - When congressional leaders began to assemble and vote on the mammoth Economic Stimulus Bill, top Democrats and the Obama administration decided that there would be no earmarks: no "special projects," no pork-barrel spending.

In so doing they gave up some control over how the money is spent, leaving the decision to public servants - the Elected and Appointed Officials residing in the Cities and Towns like New Britain CT.

Someone has to decide how money gets spent. It's either going to be Congress or the executive branch or states or local municipalities," says Fred Wertheimer of the congressional watchdog group Democracy 21.

Lawmakers had good reasons for stripping earmarks from the bill, Wertheimer says, because they are simply going to become huge targets for attacking the credibility of the Stimulus package, and they may very well end up as abusive earmarks.

It was a wise political decision, he says. But pulling earmarks out of the bill changes the balance of power in the government. If members of Congress aren't writing into the bill how the money will be spent, then someone else must make those decisions — or, in this case, a lot of people on local level - the Elected and Appointed Officials - time will tell?.

Because there is so much money in Stimulus Bill , and in so many different forms, there is no single pathway for the money to go out to states and localities," says Sarah Binder of the Brookings Institution - time will tell?

At this point in time people who have never been in the welfare loop should take time to learn all they can about obtaining freebies from their local, state and federal government because it's time you got your share before this entire country collapses and collapse it will.

We will go into depression and then into a revolution....

We and the country are on our way to the "Greatest Depression". President Hoover imposed tariffs. President Obama imposes "buy American". President Roosevelt spent us from recession to depression.

And president Obama is revisiting that economic disaster - the Stimulus Bill . As Obama prints money to cover this Stimulus Bill watch inflation put those of us on fixed incomes into an early grave.

As a young boy I remember the great America of the 1940's and now today I have to see our great country borrowing money from China, Japan and the Arab countries to cover trillions in spending.

We used to loan money to other countries. Obama - Socialism, Marxism - we have lost our way! God help us!

The cure for Stimulus Bill is TERM LIMITS, lets drain the congressional swamp! And please bear in mind, the big "O" didn't even write this turkey, it was just Nancy Pelosi, her cronies, and the K street lobbyists who emptied the liberal kitchen sink onto 1,000+ sheets of paper and nobody even had time to read the Obama Stimulus Bill.

THIS IS ALL TRUE, BUT WHY DID HE EMPOWER THESE IDIOTS TO PASS ALL THIS PORK? AND HE STILL HAS THE POWER OF LINE ITEM VETO TO REMOVE ANY AND ALL OF IT, BUT YOU KNOW THAT WON'T HAPPEN, SO DOESN'T HE GET THE BLAME FOR IT?

ALSO, ASK YOURSELF WHAT KIND OF LAWMAKERS WOULD VOTE ON A 1,075 PAGE SPENDING BILL THEY NEVER EVEN READ. ONLY THE REPUBLICANS OBJECTED TO THIS AND THE DEMOCRATS MOCKED THEM FOR THIER POSITION JUST BEFORE THEY RAMMED THE BILL THROUGH WITHOUT EVEN KNOWING WHAT THEY WERE VOTING FOR.

IF ANY OF THIS UPSETS YOU, THEN REMEMBER ALL THIS WHEN DECIDING WHO TO VOTE FOR IN THE 2010 ELECTIONS.
