Was our DTC Chairman Out to Lunch?

The Democrats in Washington have placed a sum of $2,650,247,958 into the stimulus package for Connecticut but not one thin dime for New Britain.

All the towns and cities that were remembered were Bridgeport, Danbury, Enfield, Hartford, Meriden, Middletown, Naugatuck, New Haven, Norwalk, Norwich, Stamford, Waterbury, West Hartford, and West Haven.

The mysterious question that must be in all of our minds is what has the New Britain Town Committee Chairman been doing in protecting the interest of New Britain?

What colorful explanation has he to offer that justifies we’re being here in New Britain (Connecticut’s 8th largest city) and we will remain penniless while much smaller towns get a big piece of the pie?

Where was the council Democrats to fight for some of this money being doled out by their party leadership when it is they who love so much to spend our money for us?

  2. This just shows how weak Connecticut's Congressional delegation really is. Chris Dudd is from East Haddam, but not $1 for his town. John Larson is an East Hartford boy, but failed to deliver one cent for his home town. Chris Murphy is the big shot Congressman for New Britain, but what did he deliver for us? Nothing! Maybe he could have found a way to share the $153 million that went to another one of his towns (Waterbury) with good old New Britain. Would Waterbury have really missed just a few million with a gift that huge? Once again, New Britain gets screwed. Just remember when you pay all those taxes in New Britain, you are helping to build new magnet schools in Waterbury thanks to Chris Murphy and the other weaklings in our delegation!

  3. The council Dumbocrats are so busy running around proving what power they have over everyone, they don't have any time to do what they were elected for in the first place and that is to represent the people of their district. They are so busy spending our money on liberal social programs, that they just don't have any time left to fight for money from the stimulus plan.

  4. The American public is showing virtually no confidence in the economic measures that have been implemented or advocated by the 2009 Obama administration.

The Washington Post newspaper reminded the American public why that is so: that the "Stimulus" Bill had little to do with the economy, and a great deal to do with Democratic Party politics on the national, state and local level.

And here in CT those Democrats in those cities and towns get their tickets to ride on the "Stimulus" gravy train while NB Chairman DTC John McNamara and his followers on the plantation are left behind in the station!

Unless you're telling lies (as the new Chair of Democrats for Stewart) I think you missed the formula being used for the stimulus money in New Britain

    Stewart + Rell = 0 :)

THE DUMBOCRATS ARE CONTROLLING THE PURSE STRINGS, SO HOW CAN A LOONEY TUNES BLAME 2 REPUBLICANS FOR NOT OBTAINING ANY MONEY? EVERY TIME A REPUBLICAN SUGGESTS SOMETHING, NANCY-LOONEY TUNES-PELOSI SAYS "WE WON" AS IF THE ELECTION WAS SOME MASSIVE LANDSLIDE (52 TO 49%), BUT SHE CLAIMS THE DUMBOCRATS RECEIVED A MANDATE FROM THE PUBLIC THAT THEY WANT THE SOCIALISM THAT HER, HARRY REID AND THE HEAD SOCIALIST ARE FORCING UPON US, BUT WHAT ABOUT THE 49 MILLION AMERICANS THAT VOTED AGAINST THIS GUY? DON'T THEY COUNT FOR SOMETHING? ALSO, WITH THE PASSING OF THE BIGGEST WASTEFUL SPENDING BILL IN U.S. HISTORY, WHERE WAS THE DEMOCRATIC LEADERSHIP TO SUGGEST THAT A FEW DOLLARS BE WASTED IN NEW BRITAIN???? WERE THEY TOO BUSY FINDING WAYS TO SPEND OUR MONEY TO TAKE THE TIME TO ASK FOR THE FREE MONEY FROM OBAMA??

  8. How many of the 9,000 earmarks in this weeks wasteful spending bill are destined for New Britain?

Just keep being a patriot and paying those taxes! How else could they spend $30 million to save a mouse in San Francisco?

Considering that the legislative bodies of our government alone have the authority to set budgets maybe a better way to look at it is:

Democratic controlled U.S. Senate + Democratic controlled U.S. House of Representatives + Democratic controlled Connecticut U.S. Congressional delegation + Democratic controlled Connecticut State Legislature + Democratic controlled New Britain State legislative delegation + Democratic controlled New Britain Common Council =

ZERO Stimulus funds for New Britain

  10. The question rises. Why would any New Britain resident who pays Federal Income Taxes ever vote for Chris Murphy? This is not my idea of representation. We need a person in Washington who will fight for us. Where is our share?

As for John McNamara, he has loaded up the Common Council and the BOE with liberals who have no brains and in some cases no standards.

He has made New Britain a laughing stock. He struts around in an arrogant manner as if he walks on water.

Hopefully, this year will be one for replacements. The RTC must get on the ball and find candidates. Some of their leaders need to be changed to provide more energy to the party.

  11. All these billions of dollars being spent to stimulate the economy!!! I'm waiting to see when billions will be released to stimulate crime prevention, what with all the killings in cities all across the country!! I'm so tired of turning on the nightly news and hearing of shootings/murders in Hartford, New Haven, Waterbury and cities all over the country.

  12. Clearly most residents are fed up with the "holier than thou" attitude portrayed by these looney toons on the council. And you know what, scum rises to the top so there is no one to blame for this attitude by the head loon himself, little Mac.

Bill, you can always go to the Registrar of Voters office, and change your party affliation from Democrat to Republican

  15. I think it is time for "Change we can believe in" for this town, and that would be a new Democratic chairman.
