Mrs. Rosa Rosado started her new Barber shop at the Szczesny garage located on Bank Street, New Britain some 12 years ago. I started to utilize her barber shop some eleven years ago.
As a tenant of the city of New Britain she encountered numerous water leaks and filed numerous complaints to the city property manager which fell on deaf ears.
With my being customer I went to seek help from the city’s former Mayor Lucian Pawlak which also fell on deaf ears.
This came to me as a sorrowful surprise since I was involved in the mayor’s two political campaigns. What an awful feeling of having been used politically for his campaign purposes.
Sadly Rosa was forced to move her shop, Rosa’s Hair Quarters to 88 Bingham Street, New Britain which turned out to be a blessing in disguise. Her customers followed her, as I did, and her business experienced a 50 per cent increase immediately.
She graduated as a hair stylist at the Newington Hair design school on Christian Lane 12 years ago and who are no longer in business.
She does thank the city’s inequities in providing proper service by its property manager which lead to her new found financial success.
She not only provides men’s hair cuts but also does ladies excellent hair styles.
Bingham Street is diagonally across the street from Beckman’s Garage located at 125 East Street New Britain and also a few city blocks away from the well known Paradise Restaurant also located on East Street, New Britain.
