East Hartford schools to get $3.8 million in federal funds, What will New Britain Get; Rep. Murphy?
Congressman John Larson just secured $3.8 million in federal funding for the East Hartford School system. If I understand the situation in New Britain correctly, our school board is short about $2 million in funding for this year's budget. Where was Congressman Murphy to get similar funding for New Britain? With the differences in population, Congressman Murphy should have been able to secure at least $7 million for New Britain's school system. Instead, like usual, we get nothing and have to raise your taxes to find the needed funding.

Murphy's List of Appropriations Requests is very long and lucrative for some towns particularly Waterbury, Torrington, Danbury and surprisingly Farmington. However New Britain seems to have been left out of loop. See below!

That is Approximately $210,000,000in appropriation requests. What Did Rep Murphy request for the city of New Britain besides the $2,500,000 for two projects at CCSU that are listed above????
A whopping $900.000 for the sewer Lining Construction Project, $100,000 For Greater New Britain Teen Pregnancy Prevention, Inc., 100 Arch Street and $400,000 for the Marian Heights Project at the old MIA Convent, Osgood Avenue. Yes New Britain Citizens That’s only $1,400,000 out of over $210,000,000.
Mr Murphy Did you forget about us here in New Britain?
Billions in stimulus money for Connecticut and not a thin dime for New Britain. Wasn't it $130 million for Waterbury, another one of Murphy's cities? Nice job for New Britain Mr. Murphy. See you on election day when New Britain can repay the favor.

ReplyDeleteIf Murphy did such a good job for New Britain why did he forget the city's school system?
Yes: we will see him of Election Day but not the way you liberals want to re-elect him for but to get rid of him-------Remember New Britain is a major city in his district and he forgot the school system’s needs !!!!!!!!

ReplyDeleteIn November 2010, it will be time for New Britain to forget about Mr. Murphy, the Waterbury and Danbury champion of federal funding.

ReplyDeleteFrank: You should make sure this message about East Hartford gets to Murphy's good friends, John Geragosian and Tim O'Brien. I'm sure Geragosian ("I never met a wisecrack I didn't like") and O'Brien (aka, "press the flesh"), both of whom have never had a real job will have no answers. Perhaps Doris Kurtz may also be interested. What a couple of hapless and hopeless fakers. Can you imagine what would happen to New Britain if those guys were in charge.
How many years does Geragosian have left before he qualifies for a pension (public service type)?
Remember that when you are paying your property taxes on June 1st:
ReplyDeleteCongressman Murphy saw fit to give millions in federal money to Waterbury and Danbury and to taxpayers in New Britain, a giant goose egg!
Perhaps Mr. Murphy is not even aware that New Britain is in his district?
ReplyDeleteWhy would anyone need to pay taxes anymore? Isn't that the new America under the Obama regime, that the government provides everything for free? Or is that only for the people who refuse to work or pay taxes?
