Hartford Courant photo--------EDITORIAL:
John McNamara, Democratic town chairman, viciously attacked the Republican Minority Leader Lou Salvio in yesterday's New Britain Herald for his espousing and asserting that a current Democratic Alderman allegedly is a “Carpetbagger.”
Alderman’s Salvio’s claims are referring to a Democratic Alderman currently residing out of town while serving some three an one half years as a city councilman. Rumors have it that he is planning to move into town in order legalize his upcoming campaign this November.
The major question is why did the DTC chairman allow this charade to last all this time by allowing him to use his parent’s address that is in New Britain? Additionally, as usual no word from, Mr. Ethics Alderman Sherwood, like with the four tax Scofflaws that currently sit on the Democratic side of the council.
This unnamed Alderman should join the scofflaws since he doesn’t pay any vehicle taxes to the city he represents.
His name will remain silent unless the Chairman or the Alderman wishes to make it public however, should the media ask me who it involves I would be pressed to answer their question accurately.

How can this be allowed to happen? The Alderman in question should be brought before the ethics committee and kicked off the council. The Democratic Town Committee should demand the resignation of John McNamara as chairman for having knowledge of this information. The Democrats are digging their hole deeper and deeper!!
His father is a Doctor and hia mother is a former state legislator. And he is a spoiled brat hiding behindhis mother and father. You dont have to say it because Sherwwood already knows.
Frank you must be nuts! You want the elected Democrats to pay their taxes, and now you actually want the Aldermen to live in the same town that they are elected to office in?

Lets be clear, Our democratic town commitee and legislators have time and again shown that they have no interest in following the layer apon layer of new rules that they have pushed through and proposed.
The democratic Alderpersons who sit on the council are forever lamenting that the Mayors administration is unethical, though they NEVER seem to provide any proof.
On the other hand the ethical lapse of their own are numerous and are public record.
As is the norm, The chairmen of the Democractic town commitee has again unleashed a tirade aimed at sowing doubt in the minds of the voting public. This is a tactic that he has even used against the moderate members of his own party.
Frank, Thanks for the forum, it seems it has begun to unhinge the radicals within the New Britain Democratic party. Maybe this election a more informed electorate will send these carpetbaggers and socialist on their way.
I believe the Alderman in question lives on winthrop street and has for some time now.

Does it matter that he now lives in New Britain? If he served any time on the council while living out of town, he should be kicked off the council. Since this might be considered fraud, maybe he should return any pay he received from the city. This is deception in the highest degree!!! John McNamara should resign as chairman of the Democratic Town Committee...his leadership skills stink!!

Frank: The majority of the people who vote for Democrats in New Britain are, by and large, the poor, the legal and illegal aliens and the ghetto inhabitants of public housing, those who are promised everything by our state legislators and who get NOTHING from them.
Few of them subscribe to any newspapers or attend any public meetings. The insiders drive them to the polls in vans, buses, etc., and promise them the world. Later, these people are lost in a maze of self serving rhetoric from their representatives. Good luck if you think that these people read or even care about your blog.
I applaud you for your efforts but mark my word, Gerratuna, Sherwack, Catanzero, "I can get it for you cheaper", Platosz, "diarrhea of the mouth", Bielinski, Babbler Trueworthless, Hermanowski, the mutes and the rest of the brain-dead Dems on the NB Common Council will get reelected. God Save Us! The next idea/thought these people have will be their first. We're doomed unless Stewart pulls off another no mill rate increase for NB taxpayers.
Is there any doubt that State Representative Tercyak, who won election on his father's good name is really living in his mother's house? Who among you have the time to do a drive by late every night to check on him?
Are we being represented by a Left Wing Loonie who does not even live in our district???
The only way to reach those who are uninformed is to get the brochures into their homes. They need to be educated that those whom they trust are only interested in themselves.
We need a grass roots organization to stop the rhetoric from our state representative and congressman and get real fighters in there to serve the people and not their pensions and status.
I've met the Democratic Chairman. By the looks of the photo with your story he looks much older and thinner. Maybe he should resign.

Mr. Salvio didn't call Gerratuna a carpetbagger -- but called out that Tim O'Brien for being an out of towner. How long has Mr. O'Brien been here? It would be good to know

Maybe someone needs to contact the public integrity unit at the Office of the Chief State's Attorney in Rocky Hill to investigate fraud or other criminal violations involved in living in another town while elected to serve a different town than you live in. This unit was created to investigate any unethical and illegal behavior by public officials in Connecticut.

If you are wondering who is covering for young Gerintano it must be Sue Bielenski. If you did not know this already she is his AUNT !!!! She is his mothers sister - - - - They do look alike.
I wouldn't call Tim O'Brien a carpetbagger...although he moved here from Manchester, to my knowledge he was a resident of New Britain when elected to office here. A carpetbagger is one who gets elected to a local office while living out of town, regardless of whether he/she moved to town after the election. If Terczyak is now living in Hartford while being a legislator for New Britain, he should resign and replaced by a New Britain resident.
