  1. Maybe Colonial Candelori will need to make a run to the Caymans to pay his taxes?

  2. Isn't this the same guy that the Dems on the council want to entrust with over $80 million in taxpayer dollars, but he can't even pay his taxes?

  3. Is there a cabinet post responsible for the toilets at the white house? Would be the perfect job for Candelori and he would fit right in with the rest of the cabinet who doesn't pay their taxes either.

  5. Maybe if some of these politicians paid their taxes, we wouldn't need a tax increase. Isn't that a sad state of affairs when the aldermen don't pay their taxes, but want to raise yours and mine?

  6. It would be great if everyone logging in here attended the Budget Hearing at New Britain High School auditorium on Thursday, May 14 at 6:30. With the economy the way it is, we cannot afford a tax increase! Mayor Stewart is wise in asking for a 5% decrease in each department's requests. Come to the budget hearing and speak up!!

  8. I'm very happy I found this blog - This is the first I have heard of the budget hearing - how sad that I learn about something so important from a BLOG!!!!
The main problem in our society is the huge demographic who is not engaged (both financially AND politically) and this just goes to show why. I can find out about some reporter jailed in Iran, but I barely found out about a local budget hearing!
Main Stream Media, DO YOUR JOB AND STOP TRYING TO ENGINEER OUR SOCIETY DAMMIT!!!

  11. Maybe Candelori can sneak his tax bill into the Mattabassett budget for payment. He must have learned something at Colonial Realty.

  12. Time to get our local spending in line. With current job losses, as well as the age demographics of our city and last years reval, homeowners can no longer continue to support anything other than the basic necessities. That goes both for the City and Education side of the budget. We need to get our house in order for the future, as our economy will get worse before it gets better. If the Democratic majority on the Council raises taxes, I say, re-elect Tim STEWART and give him a Republican Majority on the Council in the upcoming election.
