Alderman Sherwood might not be a favorite of many of us in this circle but having financial disclosure is a good thing. I'm surprised it had the votes to actually pass!
and this provides us with what?
several democrats don't own anything while two republicans own 1 or 2 properties.
are we going to ask them the all important question Bill Clinton was asked to disclose during his run for president?

According to the statements on file at the NB town clerk’s office, Alderpersons Roy Centeno, Silvia Cruz, Greg Gerratana, Eva Magnuszewski and Shirley Black do not own property (House) in New Britain.
But, the NB Alderpersons do pay taxes on their motor vehicle - personal property.
How does New Britain have 52 department heads and or elected officials...Is that correct?
Either way, Alderman Sherwood and the council deserve praise for getting this one right.
In opposing the deal with the Hospital of Central Connecticut Garage Alderman Phil Sherwood was quoted in the New Britain Herald saying “WE HAVE THE POWER.”
According to the statements on file at the NB town clerk’s office, Alderpersons Roy Centeno, Silvia Cruz, Greg Gerratana, Eva Magnuszewski and Shirley Black do not own property (House) in New Britain.
But, the NB Alderpersons do pay taxes on their motor vehicle - personal property.
Does Gerratana even pay those? for a while he wasn't. His car was registered somewhere else....

Weren't many of the Democrats seriously delinquent on their car taxes until Frank Smith got on their case?

Maybe this has a lot to do with why they don't seem to care how high our taxes go?

I am a Republican who is running for office in November, and I am sitting here right now righting a check payable to the tax collector for my car taxes because they are due tomorrow. I know there is a 30 day grace period before there is a late charge, but they are due tomorrow and shouldn't we, the elected officials, be setting an example for everyone else?
Perhaps you might consider following the example of this Republican, and pay yours when they are do for a change?
If we are really going to have full public disclosure, ask Alderman Gerratana to disclose any taxes he paid in the past to the City of New Britain for Real Estate, Motor Vehicles, or anything else for that matter.
You may be surprised as the truth.
