My response to John’s comments that appears below his question

EDITORIAL

First you complains that you didn't receive a response from Congressman Murphy. Then, once you get a response that answers your question, you complain that you don't like the response. Congressman Murphy is clearly making him available to the public (5 times next week). The only thing unacceptable is your unwillingness to participate in a civil discussion. I'm sure we won't see Frank Smith at any of Congressman Murphy's town halls next week because he needs to hide behind his keyboard.

JOHN: IT IS AMAZING THAT YOU HAVE NOT NOTICED THE MANY COMMENTS ON THIS BLOG REGARDING MY ATTEMPTING TO ARRANGE AN APPOINTMENT FOR SENIORS TO MEET WITH THE CONGRESSMAN DURING MID JULY ONLY TO BE TOLD THAT THE CONGRESSMAN’S SCHEDULE FOR AUGUST HAD NOT BEEN ARRANGED. BUT,I WOULD BE NOTIFIED OF THE ARRANGEMENTS ONCE THEY WERE SCHEDULED. MUCH TO MY DISMAY, I READ AN ARTICLE THAT APPEARED IN A LOCAL NEWSPAPER GLORIFYING THE CONGRESSMAN FOR HOLDING "A TOWN HALL MEETING," IN HIS NEW BRITAIN OFFICE, WITH ALL OF SEVEN PEOPLE IN ATTENDANCE DURING THE MONTH OF AUGUST.

NO PUBLIC NOTICE OF THIS MEETING COULD BE FOUND AND NO PRIOR ADVICE OR NOTICE OF THIS MEETING WAS PERSONALLY CONVEYED TO ME, OF A MEETING BEING SCHEDULED TO BE HELD IN HIS OFFICE--AS PERSONALLY PROMISED BY HIS OFFICE STAFF. DID THEY LIE?

MY QUESTION HAS NEVER CHANGED AND THAT IS: "WHY IS THE CONGRESSMAN HIDING?"
TELL ME WHEN AND WHERE THE MEETING WILL BE HELD FOR NEW BRITAIN SENIORS, EVEN THOUGH I ALREADY HAVE A SUITABLE VENUE PREVIOUSLY ARRANGED, AND I ALONG WITH MANY OTHER SENIOR CITIZENS WILL BE THERE.

I WILL EVEN LEAVE MY KEYBOARD AT HOME SO LONG AS I CAN BRING MY TRUSTY REPORTER'S NOTEBOOK.

  1. It always makes me laugh at Seniors who love Medicare but want the government out of their Health Care. What a joke.

Get out of the way and let people with real ideas figure out how we're going to fix this problem instead of whining that your Congressman can't completely satisfy every one of your demands. I hope history remembers who was on the side of "fixing the problem" and who was on the side of "throwing a temper tantrum".

  3. I guess this liberal's idea of "fixing the problem" is having government decide and control every aspect of his life from the cradle to the grave.

He hasn't figured out yet that the government "option" that isn't an option because it is forced down all our throats by the dictator is dead because even 75% of Democrats are now against it. The latest poll shows that only 24% of Democrats support Obama's radical socialist plan, so wave goodbye to it.

  8. Congress is like a runaway train. They seem to think they do not have to answer to "we the people"
    Big mistake... big

  9. The entire bill is designed so that the despot in the White House can control all of our lives.

  10. Who recruited Chris Murphy into CCAG? Phil Sherwood? They both seemed to have appeared on the New Britain landscape at approximately the same time frame, though not necessarily together.
    Hmmmmmm!

  11. Check out Murphy's message about the importance of CCAG to the "PROGRESSIVE MOVEMENT."

This is just one of several CCAG recruiting videos Murphy appears in.

  12. Oh Please Mr. Anonymous ....

Temper Trantrums are the only way to finally get the attention of our elected officials ...
especially someone like "I'm in the back pocket of Big Pharma and getting as much political perks as I can" Chris Murphy. Remember the TV Commericial Big Pharma run last month for our saintly Congressman ....

No wonder we are angry. Didn't he use Big Pharma against Nancy Johnson and now he has Big Pharma running commercials about him telling us in the 5th what a 2-faced hypocrite ...I mean I'll do anything to get campaign donations Murphy. Who's in bed with whom here!

  13. The president’s supporters seem to have been drowned out when it comes to healthcare reform, with activists on the right flocking to healthcare town halls around the country and getting a lot of attention for doing so. Conservatives already have a bus, too, the “Hands Off My Healthcare” bus, created by the conservative group Americans for Prosperity. It has toured the country for several weeks, this week stopping in Arkansas.

  14. When Nancy Johnson was our Congresswoman, she appeared at the New Britain Senior Center many times to let seniors know what was/is available to them. She made herself available to chat with seniors at these forums on a one-to-one basis.
Is there any reason Christopher Murphy can't do the same?
    Minus Phil Sherwood, of course!!
