The league of women voters will be holding a debate with council's candidates and subsequently will have a mayoral debate with The Honorable Mayor Timothy Stewart and Representative Tim O'Brien.
This affair will be held in the city's council chambers at 6:30 P. M. Tuesday 10-20-09

ReplyDeleteThis ought to be a laugher! What can O'Brien tell the people that he has accomplished for them? IT"S NOTHING!
What can the Democratic candidates-currently in office- tell the people other than they have delayed or tried to obstruct evry positive program Stewart has put forth?
The only way to go is, VOTE IN THE STEWART TEAM!
Someone should ask O'Brien why he has to pay ACORN to do his campaigning. Why can't he get volunteers to work for his campaign, the same way Tim Stewart does?
ReplyDeleteMy invitation stated the aldermanic debate will start at 6:30.
ReplyDeleteMark Bernacki
The only jobs O'Brien has ever held are political. What job is it that O'Brien can do? The article tells you he is trained to do nothing and he has proven that he does that well. He is Mayor material? Only if his campaign contributors from out of town can buy the election for him.
ReplyDeleteMy only concern is that the Alderman candidates will not get enough time and attention.
ReplyDeletePeople sometimes forget the very important role this legislative body plays and why it important to elect the best candidates.
If were are going to keep this community on the right track, it's not enough to re-elect Mayor Stewart. We also need to support his slate.
If O'Brien actually owned property in New Britain, we would have most likely found him among so many of his fellow Democrats, on Frank's list of tax delinquents!
ReplyDeleteHe owns no property in the city, and therefore has no stake in the future of New Britain.

You got that right!! The present council, especially Michael Trueworthy, has put down most of Mayor Stewart's ideas, no matter how good they are...could it be the medication at work???
We should replace all 13 Democrats, and keep the 2 Republicans..
