Thomas Salwocki is a life long resident of New Britain, graduating from New Britain High School in 1954. Thomas was Captain of the Football Team, and President of his graduating class.
Thomas is married to his wife of 53 years, Joanne, together they have 3 children and 8 grand children. Thomas attended the University of Pittsburgh on a football scholarship. He served in the U.S.Army from 1957 to 1962 and was discharged honorably.
Thomas studied engineering at the University of Hartford and worked in that field at Pratt & Whitney. After leaving Pratt, Thomas became a tool maker, a field he enjoyed until his retirement.
Thomas is devoted to his church, Sacred Heart Church of New Britain, where he serves as a Eucharistic Minister of Holy Communion and an Alter Server.
Thomas has been a member of the New Britain Parking Commission for 4 years and is past Exalted ruler of Elks Lodge 957 of New Britain.
Thomas says his goal as Treasurer would be running the city the same way he runs his household--living within our means.
