  1. As reported under Property Transfers in THE NEW BRITAIN HERALD: Timothy O'Brien and his wife Rhona L. Cohen step up to the plate on 12/24/2009 and purchase a house at 25 South High Street in New Britain for the sum of $93,500.

  2. You mean they are actually living in New Britain?

What happened to Manchester, and does he still send his stepson to school in another town outside his district?

  3. I'll save them all the trouble and effort. Reduce the size of government and cut taxes. Tax cuts for businesses and high income earners is the best way to stimulate job creation. Even John F. Kennedy understood that when he passed huge tax cuts for high income earners as a response to a recession, a process of JFK's that Ronald Reagan duplicated successfully when he too was faced with a recession.

At least one of the Democratic Leaders in Hartford, Deputy Senate President Pro Tempore Gary LeBeau, has awaken from his slumber as he was quoted recently as calling for state employee unions to make additional wage concessions or face "staff reductions" aka layoffs.

If you want to attract businesses to Connecticut, start slashing the bloated size of state government and pass those savings onto business owners and high income earners through huge tax cuts, and look out for all the new jobs that will be created.

Clearly the path the Democrats that control our legislature have forced us down with their tax and spend philosophy has led us down the path to self destruction. It is time for a new direction with change we really can believe in!

  4. Maybe we should send the entire group to Austin so they can study how Texas manages to have a $22 billion budget surplus for 2009.

If something works, why fix it?

  5. Maybe they should ask for input from the Republican who is leading against uberliberal Democrat Chris Murphy by a 2 to 1 margin in the November election? There must be a reason why he is leaving Murphy in the dust! Perhaps he has indicated a willingness to listen to the people?

  6. “The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people’s money to spend.”

  7. If only 19% of Americans identify themselves as liberals, how did we end up with so many of them in New Britain?

  8. I will now make sure to bring all my business to Mohegan Sun as I will not knowingly do business with a union business. This decision should cause a large decrease in their business as many conservatives feel the same way about avoiding socialist unions, especially one like the united auto workers which has huge ties to ACORN. People should be warned that when they do business with Foxwoods, they are helping to support an organization like the United Auto Workers:

In what may prove a historic agreement, the owners of Foxwoods Resort Casino and its 2,500 table game dealers have reached their first-ever union contract that will provide scheduled pay increases, offer some job protections and govern working conditions.
