Wednesday Night's Council Meeting About The BEEHIVE!

This show, led by our two Democratic leaders, Aldermen Sherwood & Trueworthy with their efforts to stymie the outcome because they felt it was unfair for the Parks and Recreation Department for having the fortitude to keep applying for the LOCIP funds, year after year, and other departments did not. Both Aldermen expressed that it would be best to deny this request because it would be unfair to not share these funds with other city departments.

I was totally shocked to watch the Council's P&R Liaison, Alderwomen Shirley Black introduce this worthy motion that would help the sports minded children of our city, and then turn around and vote against it.

The council meetings are shown on channel 96 the following night but what is not on film, which is extremely the most important and is missing, is what truly happens during the Democratic caucus.

In Spite of Mr. DeMaio's plea, Ms. Black proposed it and then voted against it along with her fellow Democratic council members Cruz, Platosz, Centeno, and Trueworthy which forced the proposal to fail.

  1. I applaud the park and rec. dept. for asking for funds year after year for improvements What's amazing is that it got denied i hope the children can play safely without additional costs to the city (law suits)

  2. Do certain elected officials get to get behind closed doors and discuss how they should vote??? In my opinion Absolutely!!!!!!

  3. Why would you expect anything else out of black? She makes about as much sense as Trueworthy. What the hell is parks and reckeration? Maybe that's why it was denied, because no one knew what she was talking about. Its time we find people who have common sense to be on our council. I mean trueworthy with his xyz questions. Hello its a entry level position. DO YOU UNDERSTAND WHAT WAS JUST PRESENTED TO YOU? And don't get me started, Sherwood,Mr Joe Concerned for the budget, citizens, New Britain, taxpayers' want's to throw away 250,000 of tax payer money to oust the city auditor. These people are out of there minds and should be removed from this council. People of New Britain need to wake up! We need people who care about New Britain! There is no room for People who participate political grandstanding or who are involved in special interest groups. Everyone knows Who and what I am talking about, NOW ITS TIME TO ACT! And how do you do that? Show up at the council meetings, read the news papers, check out the local blogs, and talk to your elected officials, get informed and get these idiots out of office! I am am proud to say that my name is JIM SANDERS JR

  4. Maybe the Caucus meetings need to be televised on Nutmeg, the same way Obama is televising the health care debate on C-Span.

  5. The New Britain Common Council is a joke. I don't know why we bother to even have one. There are a few concerned elected officials on the council (republicans), their time and efforts are wasted. This city just spins it's wheels because of the democratic games and antics.
Ms. Black has a good proposal and votes against her own proposal? Has she no back bone? No! Not a one of them can contribute anything that doesn't go through
the DTC. The citizens of NB should be outraged by every vote this council makes. We give respect to criminals, throw stones at potential business prospects, commit repeated ethics breaches, cut off our noses to spite our faces day in and day out at what point is enough, enough.

Why do the democratic underlings even bother to be there? They can't do anything to make NB a better place. Do they need the small paycheck that comes with embarrassing themselves. It can't be the title?

Maybe we can turn the Nutmeg TV tapes into a sitcom that derives much necessary budgetary funding.

  8. To: Mr. Jim Sanders, Jr.

If you think the things you pointed out are dumb, then how about this one; Eva Magnuszewski asking Bill DeMaio IF HE KNOWS WHEN THE LIGHTS AT BEEHIVE FIELD ARE GOING TO BURN OUT??!!!! NO LIE! SHE ASKED THAT. And if you ever watch her she reads all of her comments and questions.

How Trueworthy and Sherwood voted against this,I don't know...they both have small chilldren who undoubtedly will use the park system over the next several years. Sherwood lives near Stanley Park: Is he happy with it's present condition, what with the ducks and geese causing problems with the pond? It takes money to make the parks as lovely as they are. We have the loveliest park system in the area...let's keep it that way!!

  10. Eva M. exemplified the level of her stupidity by asking someone if they know when light bulbs will burn out.

Obviously Eva's bulb burned out long ago!

  11. Maybe the DOT needs to hire Candelori to police their contracts?

    DOT contract raises some eyebrows

Cheshire (WTNH) - A contractor that botched a job on I-84 in Cheshire has been awarded a second multi-million dollar contract by the state Department of Transportation.

It was a widening project on the Cheshire/Waterbury line that ended in a massive investigation into shoddy work. The DOT found that the Maguire Group was at fault, and now three years later, the company has been awarded an environmental contract. Attorney General Richard Blumenthal sent a letter to the DOT.

"This letter very simply calls for heightened scrutiny and reconsideration of this company doing any work for the state of Connecticut in light of the problems that we have seen in the work that it has done," Blumenthal said.

Another company has since bought the Maguire Group and says they have fired all the people involved with the past mistakes.

I wonder why Jim Craven has yet to comment on Wednesday's Council meeting. ???????????? Could it be that Sherwood is again trying to control the New Britain news?

That meeting was filled with dumb comments, this one from Trueworthy; after being told by Chief Gagliardi that only previously certified -by training in a police academy- policemen would be allowed lateral transfers and would be hired as entry level patrolmen, Trueworthy says, "how about a janitor?" I am not kidding. Watch a rebroadcast of the Council meeting next Tuesday. Now, if one gives Trueworthy the benefit a doubt, you could figure he had another scenario in mind. On the other hand, if you have watched Trueworthy you are aware of his rambling. And who can know what Sylvia Cruz says about anything? What a joke is this group of Democrats.
