"Is Time Running Out For The Press?”

  1. The trouble with the mediaFebruary 14, 2010 at 8:40 PM

Time is running out for liberal media. NBC, NY Times and the like are floundering, while fair and balanced media like Fox News, the Wall Street Journal, USA Today are all posting record profits with exploding followings.

The people are tuning the liberal media out because they are tired of the one sided reporting.

This new owner of the Herald has demonstrated that he is just more of the same old left wing liberal bias--pushing the propaganda of the Democrats, and he wonders why his subscriptions are dwindling?

Just look at the last election.

Every time O'Brien made the slightest comment, it was front page news, while the Mayor was lucky to get a mention in the shopping news for even major developments. Then they even went so far as to publish confidential medical information about a Republican candidate, who's arrest they even reported on after the case had been dismissed--because his conduct was determined to have been the result of a medical condition--again a private matter.

It couldn't have been clearer to me that the editorial board of this paper was in the tank for the Democrats.

Only when they return to the days of fair reporting of the news, regardless of which party is involved, will they see the public willing to trust them again. Unless they earn that public trust, they can expect to continue to lose readers until they find themselves in financial ruin.

But then again, the new owner of the Herald is reputed to be uber rich, so maybe he doesn't mind dumping millions of personal finances into a floundering news enterprise, so long as they use it to push a left wing agenda--even if no one is reading their brand of tripe.

  2. It is his money. If he wants to waist it on a failing enterprise that is being run into the toilet, it is his problem! Let'em keep driving away their readers with their slanted reporting! How many people are already of the opinion that Sherwood runs this paper anyway?
It would be no big loss to most of us.

  3. I can't remember the last time I read that rag and I can read it for free. The diner I eat at every day has a free copy for customers and I wouldn't even bother picking it up. Besides I get faster and better news right here so why bother.
