  1. This is how the Herald works:

Reporter - I've heard that you beat your wife, senator smith.

Sen. Smith - I've never laid a hand on my wife. The police have never been to our house. My wife's family and friends all know that we are in love and have a great relationship for 20 years. I don't know who made that accusation, but it's completely false.

New Britan Herald Headline - Sen. Smith denies wife beating allegation.

It used to be that a story had to be true to make it into the newspaper. Now, it's a story when someone denies a falsh accusation?

  2. Senator Smith beat his wife? You must be making a racist statement!

  3. This is the same game the Herald played during the election. Whenever O'Brien made a statement, no matter how ridiculous his claims were, it was always page one, with a nice color photo so large, you could almost see the sweat dripping off of O'Brien's palms, but when the Mayor said something that was usually more credible, it was buried in the classified section.

  4. The West St. area of New Britain is represented by: two (2) Council members, a State Rep. and our State Senator. In addition we have State Rep., Tim O'Brien who ran for Mayor last fall and claimed that he would put an end to BLIGHT in New Britain.
When has any one of aforementioned people done absolutely anything to represent people the West St. area of New Britain? Cat got your tongue? The answer is never.
But let somebody send a basesless (no proof) accusation about Mayor Stewart or any other Republican to the Herald and the Herald gobbles it up and puts it out there for all to read. I believe it's Mayor Stewart who should be suing Marzi.
As for political contributions did our State Reps. or other members of the Democrat group mentioned
above receive any help from ACORN? Will they next fall?
If the Herald is losing readers is because the paper is not fair and balanced in its coverage - of course that is its prerogative. Why has the Herald drop its investigations of the illegal use of Capitol computers, the Mattabassett fiasco or other Democrat trangressions? And The Herald seeks support from the people for its fight against repeal
of a mandate to allow that public notices need only be published on line. The Herald's previous staff writers and editor - prior to Mr. Schroeder's purchase - were assailed by the public for being anti Stewart. How much better is the reporting and the editing now with regard to the Herald's articles on the Mayor?

  5. Given the opertunity to call Richard Marzi after a response to my recent comment on this issue, I did call him.

After about a 30 minute phone conversation with Mr. Marzi I am able to say that he was abble to offer some very interesting information on this issue. I will not comment on most of our conversation, only to say a couple of things.

The first thing being that this to issue needs to be looked at on all sides to determine what happens next.

Iknow that sounds very vague but it's really all I can say at this time.

The most interesting and disturbing part of our conversation was when I asked him when he informed the counsil of this issue, he responded by saying THREE WEEKS PRIOR TO THE MEETING!!!

I did not ask him who he spoke to but I would guess it was Sherwood. ( I hope richard will confirm this)
That being said we need to confirm this is true and ask Sherwood why he withheld information from the rest of the counsil. Could it be that it did't fall in line with his anti bullying campaign?

These actions are inexcusable and answers must be given in a timely manner, and should also be brought to the attention of the ethics commission

Thank you for giving me the oppertunity to speak with you Richard.

  6. Hey Jim I also have some property in Florida I'd like to sell you. You believe this despicable excuse for a human being over the Mayor? So what if Ancona contributed to his campaigns, why is there always an allegation of a quid pro qou when it comes to contributions? Many contribute to political campaigns, could it be that the Ancona's are republicans and contribute to many r's campaigns.
The man is a poor excuse for someone who is trying to help his neighbors, he can't even stand the races he purports to represent, nor did his father for that matter.
Check the records if you wish on the mayor being involved with the Ancona's. He personally abated their properties multiple times while a fire inspector, costing them thousands of dollars to repair deficiencies in their buildings.
Normal people don't go around spewing nastiness and hate on their neighbors, Marzi does. Is he the kind of person you would want to associate with Jim? Be careful!

  7. Please read carefully, I in no way am supporting Mr Marzi, I personally think that what he did was wrong.

What I did say is that the issue should be looked at on all sides to make sure that the city is well protected.

The main reason for me re-posting this comment was to get it out to the public the THREE WEEK DELAY in informing the rest of the counsil on this issue and hopefully expose Sherwood's bulls*$#

I will support The Mayor and corporation counsil 110% on this.

Also please understand that by me talking to Richard Marzi is what brought this all out.

And last but not least, NO I would not want to associate with this person under the circumstances.

  8. I feel the need to claify that my comments were based soley on the "NRZ Leader in slander suit seeks legal aid from city" reported in the New Britain Hearald on 02/26/10

That was the issue that I was refering to. I apologize for the confusion.

  9. COMING TO A LIBERAL LEFT WING NEWSPAPER NEAR YOU:

In what it calls a "fundamental transformation" of its business, ABC News plans to cut about 20 percent of its workforce — or around 300 people — through buyouts or layoffs, the New York Post reported.

KEEP REPORTING WHAT THE PEOPLE DON'T WANT TO READ (left wing extremist rhetoric), AND YOU TOO COULD JOIN ABC NEWS IN FAILURE!

  10. Well once again Rich Marzi has leveled accusations against Tim Stewart. Nothing new there.

What people who support Rich Marzi fail to understand is that in order for these accusation to be true it is not only the integrity of Mayor Stewart that they are questioning .They would also have us believe that Chief Gagliardi and his subordinates, A states attorney , his subordinates , a state prosecutor and his subordinates as well as the city inspectors and the Fire Chief are all in cahoots.
Come on folks lets see some evidence because if these accusations are true than there must be someone to collaborate these accusations.
    Cricket, cricket, cricket
And still the North Oak NRZ is rendered useless.
Instead of challenging people to fights via local blogs Rich should either present his evidence or step aside.
