The Standing Bonding Sub-Committee of the Common Council of The City of New Britain has approved the appropriations and Bond Authorizations for an Addition to the DiLoreto Magnet School at last night's meeting.
This matter will move forward to the next Common council meeting for its approval and then it will be submitted by the Board of Education to the State Bonding Commission for its approval.
Once again Aldermen Sherwood and Trueworthy pull a grandstanding play and try to raise the total of the bond for the addition to the DiLoreto School by $5million. Do these two really care about the school? NO! They just wish to fool the people into thinking they care about education. In reality they don't care a whit.
ReplyDeleteThey simply want to add to the bonded indebtedness of the City and then blame it on the Mayor.
Did either of them ask the Mayor to increase the amount of the Bond? No! Do either of these two jokers know how much the addition will cost? NO! They simply want to agitate. Don't let these two neerdowells fool you, they care only about their political future.
WHY IN THE WORLD DO TRUEWORTHY AND SHERWOOD WANT TO RAISE THE TOTAL OF THE BOND FOR THE ADDITION TO DILORETO SCHOOL BY $5 MILLION? WITH THE PINNACLE HEIGHTS HOUSING COMPLEX LONG GONE AND NO RESIDENTIAL BUILDINGS GOING UP THERE, IS IT NECESSARY???
ReplyDeleteMike Trueworthy, having been on the Council since 2003 must know by now that the Common Council can't raise the amount of a bond authorization put forward by the Mayor at the meeting called by the Mayor. Nonetheless, Trueworthy and Wonder Boy Sherwood try to do just that. Of course, both were told they were out of order and it didn't happen.
ReplyDeleteThe people of New Britain must see by now that this ploy by the bopsie twins was simply to try to trick people in New Britain into thinking that their (the twins) motives are altruistic. This action by Mike and Phil was, plain and simple, GRANDSTANDING! What a sorry pair of supposed city legislators.
