FRANKSMITHSAYSNB EDITORIAL:
The New Britain City Council's, Ultra Liberals, Have Forced the Common Council to Become a Party In Seeking The Legislative Approval for Allowing the Third Party Line of The working Families Party to Not Require Obtaining Signatures Equal to 20% of The Last Election Turnout!
This mandate should never have occurred in the name of the New Britain City Common Council but this request should have been made by the individual candidates that appeared on the third Party line during the city's last election.
Unfortunately, the Council President Pro-Tempore, Alderman Michael Trueworthy, delivered a smashing victory for the infamous third party line confirming the third party candidates of their allegiance to Bertha Lewis president of the "WORKING FAMILIES PARTY".
I STRONLY URGE ALL INDEPENDANTS, REPUBLICANS,AND CONSERVITIVE DEMOCRATS TO CALL OR WRITE YOUR STATE REPRESENTATIVES AND SENATORS TO NOT ACCEPT THIS FORCED EXTORTION BY THE THIRD PARTY CANDIDATES INVOLVING OUR GREAT CITY TO APPEAR SOCIALISTIC SINCE BERTHA LEWIS WHO RECENTLY SPOKE TO YOUNG DEMOCRATS CLAIMING IT IS GOOD TO BE "SOCIALIST AS I AM".
Obviously Big Bertha was accurate when she proclaimed that candidates who accept her radical endorsement are declaring their allegiance to her when she comes knocking at City Hall.
ReplyDeleteWhat makes you think that our state senator and representatives are not all socialists? Hm-m-m!
ReplyDeleteI live in the suburbs and recently talked to my registrar of voters, and I am so glad she told me that the working families (misnomer since many of them don't work at all in any productive job) is not recognized as a party in my town, so you can not register as a member of that group of radical subversives even if you were misguided enough to want to.
ReplyDeleteAt least some towns in Connecticut still have common sense.
Just a reminder that all four New Britain Council Republicans voted against this measure and, as Council Minority Leader, I am urging Mayor Stewart not to sign the resolution. All seven Democrats present signed this ridiculous power grab by the Council Democrats.
ReplyDeleteTrueworthy referred to my stand against this resolution as being naive. Other comments from Council Democrats indicated that we who voted no were voting in favor of corruption of the election process.
What is more corrupt than having Democrat candidates being endorsed on two lines on the ballot by a Socialist leaning arm of the Democratic Party?
Working families party IS considered a party in all towns because they have cross endorsed all Congressional candidates giving them statewide ballot access.
ReplyDeleteSorry anonymous, whomever gave you your info does not understand the law.
Odd that a campaign finance reform bill that was championed by the most popular republican governor in the country is being opposed by Mr, Minority Leader in NB and his minions. Who's out of touch?

The IGNORAMUS that penned the above quote feels that I command the other 3 Council Republicans to whom he/she refers to as my minions. Try saying that to their faces when you remember what is your name! None of the four of us are anyone's minions, not even Governor Rell's (I guess you forgot her name too). All Republicans - as were all Americans - were included in the Emancipation Proclamation.
Correction to my original message: the seven Democrats at the Council meeting did not "sign" the resolution, they voted in favor of it. Mea culpa.
The Working Family Party is ridiculous...the most it does is allow some candidates to have their names on the ballot twice...Why give the impression that if a candidate is voted for twice on the same ballot, he/she will get 2 votes instead of 1???
ReplyDeleteYou mean the socialist Democrat of a Senator who refused to serve his country when he was drafted--Mr. Conscientious objector himself--who when he was Mayor, the veteran's would all stand and turn their backs to him--that Senator?????
ReplyDeleteI'm sure the Democrats are all proud of his service to his country during their time of need!
Republican Lincoln Freed The Slaves,
ReplyDeleteDemocrat Obama Enslaved The Free!
Working Families Party mostly represents people looking for a free ride at the expense of people who do work.
Which party truly represents your values??????
Too bad for Big Bertha and her radical friends that the American people overwhelming oppose socialism!
ReplyDeleteWas it "young Democrats" or "young communists" she was speaking to?
ReplyDeleteMy impression of the Working Families Party is this, a bunch of professional, political, community organizers that seek to get paid by you and me the taxpayers to push their own self serving agendas. These people attach themselves to one another in a network that provides financial and political gain. They pray on working families going door to door on the premise that they are somehow going to better the working man's life. They get votes and once in power they can direct grants and funding that keep themselves employed. They appear humble and concerned for all humanity but in the end they are just collecting a paycheck for themselves and their friends. They are heavily involved in the little city of New Britain CT because we offer a breading ground with little protest. They had paid workers at our polls during the last mayoral election. These pollsters didn't live in or have anything to do with the city of New Britain. They work to put their people in like Tim O'Brien so they can advance their agenda.
ReplyDeleteTim O'Brien, so soft spoken and nice. Needs a haircut and an iron for his shirt. People like him, relate to him, vote for him. Just the kind of guy we need balancing the cities check book and managing the budget. Can you only imagine.
Hey Louie salvio,do you ever shut your mouth?
ReplyDelete""The Working Family Party is ridiculous...the most it does is allow some candidates to have their names on the ballot twice...""
ReplyDeleteWrong again. they actually provide money, volunteers, consulting, and they door knock their butts off.
That means more in NB then getting on the republican line that's for sure:)
Didn't Glenn Beck recently dedicate an entire show to exposing how working families is little more than a front group for the former radical group ACORN and how they are/were getting millions of your tax dollars to help transform this country into a socialist/communist dictatorship where you as a citizen have no rights and only the government matters?
ReplyDeleteAs I understand it, the central theme seems to be that if you work or own your own business, you should be punished for having more wealth than someone who lives totally free on the backs of the hard working taxpayers. Do I have it correct?

Just another example of how unions are destroying this once great country:
ReplyDeleteOn April 9, a Napa Valley wine owner exercised his free speech rights in a letter to the editor of the local paper. He pointed out California politicians’ reckless disregard for sound fiscal management and their willingness to pay back the public sector union bosses who got them elected.
How did the union militants respond?
“I only hope that when your winery is burning down, no fire fighters come to help your business,” wrote one union militant.
A police union official posted the wine owner’s picture – in case any angry readers “see him choking in a restaurant.”
In The Herald, 5/4/10: Article by James Craven.
ReplyDelete" If anyone who read this article wants to hear and see the discussion on this resolution at the 4/28 Council meeting, please watch the proceedings on Public Access TV tonight at 6:00 or 6:30 P.M. YOU'LL GET THE COMPLETE PICTURE.
The resolution was simply another ploy put forth by Democrat Alderman Mike Trueworthy to try to make the public think that all New Britain voters support the Citizen Election Program.
The Herald report says, "Council passes resolution in support of campaign law." This might mean to some readers that the whole Council agreed. While it was a "Council" action that received a favorable vote, only the 7 Democrats present voted in favor while the 4 Republicans voted against.
This is the way it goes on the Council with most issues of this kind. Huge amounts of taxpayer monies go to this process, monies that could be used for worthwhile, projects beneficial to all people, not just a few politicians.
Remember, a Judge declared this law UNCONSTITUTIONAL! "
