In Sunday's Herald, 5/23/10, The Herald scored a trifecta. Editor Jim Smith and columnists, Chris Powell and Kathleen Parker all weighed in on the Blumenthal, Vietnam lie.
In three different ways, all three decried the attempts by AG Richard Blumenthal to pooh pooh his gaffe/lie about whether he served in Viet Nam with the U. S. Marines. Pure and simple, Blumey tried to pass himself off as having served with the Marines in Viet Nam. Again, pure and simple, it was a lie. Not one of the writers attempted to portray the situation as an "all right" act by Blumenthal. All three columns were objective and avoided finger pointing. Nonetheless, all three characterized the situation as less than acceptable behavior by Blumenthal. Why is it so difficult for some to say. "I'm sorry?" Kathleen Parker’s final comment was the most interesting. Then, following the Democrat State Convention, Blumenthal issued a “coerced’ apology. Too late, too bad, too phony!

I was not planning to vote for Blumenthal. However, I do not mind an outsider but not one who is spending 50 million dollars to get my vote! Especially, since that money came from phony wresting, drugs, etc.
ReplyDeleteIs it too late for an Independent to run who is worthy of my vote which I value.
The choices are someone who knows how to run a business, create jobs and pay taxes, or someone who has a 20 year record of destroying jobs by suing employers out of existence.
ReplyDeleteDoesn't sound like a difficult one, especially when the job destroyer is such a liar.

Everybody knows that Professional Wrestling is phony; how do feel about doped up football, baseball or the players in other other "sport"? How about all druggies in the movies and rock bands?
It's your opinion and I respect that but it's a lame one.
I'm one of the delegates that voted for McMahon; she didn't buy my vote, she earned it. Her fortune is of no interest to me!
Who is worthy of your vote Mr. Anonymous?
Ms. McMahon and her husband went from dire straights (bankruptcy) to multi-millionaires...a simple case of pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and start all over again. Better than following the footsteps of Senator Kerry of Massachusetts..Linda has my vote!!!
ReplyDeleteWhy would we want to vote for losers who have never accomplished anything but living off the taxpayers (liberal Democrats) when we can vote for someone who made capitalism work by succeeding through hard work--a positive example for all of us.
ReplyDeleteEven the Vice Presidents knows what a lying piece of crap Blumenthal is!
ReplyDeleteVice President Joseph Biden, in speaking about Vietnam, has gained national attention by saying that he didn't want to make a "Blumenthal mistake.''

..WRESTLING IS FAKE! Has been. Always will be. This is entertainment. I, personally, NEVER watched it nor did I allow my kids to watch this. However, friends of my kids love this stuff. Some adults also follow it.
Me. I enjoy baseball, football, rock n roll bands, and some movies. Do I broad brush and say ALL athletes, all musicians, and all actors are drunks or druggies. Of course not. Do I approve of these extra marital liaisons some have? Nope. And no. Everyone doesn't do "it".
I was a GOP delegate that proudly voted for Linda McMahon and Sam Caliguri. They are not a career politicians. I am definitely against career politicians. Linda learned from going broke how to build a business into a top organization and this state and country needs fresh, new leadership that Linda McMahon offers.
We recently saw what a choreographed 30 year career politician running for the same senate seat got us. Career politicians need to stay in office to earn a living. They will say, but not necessarily do anything. Especially the right thing for US.
The country and this state needs to turn itself around now and voting for Sam Caliguri and Linda McMahon are steps in the right direction.

Linda McMahon might be spending a fortune on her campaign but she has also pledged, if elected, not to take the senetorial salary that comes with that office.
ReplyDeleteI too would never vote for Blumie, not in a million years.
I will give Linda a chance. We need big changes in Washington and she is about as different as it gets when it comes to politics in DC. Time to shake things up.
This is why Alderman Bernacki is so well respected. He always stands up for what he believes in.

ReplyDeleteHow many Democrats can actually read?
The stupidity of the voters in CT never ceases to amaze me. This state has been going down the tubes for decades and the ignorant electorate in this state keep on voting for the same losers over and over and over again.
ReplyDeleteWhat was once a great place to live has become an almost impossible place to live because of the liberal loons that are responsible for one of the highest tax burdens in the country.
We are becoming California east.
