Didn't Blumenthal also stand with Chris Dodd even after the "Friends of Angelo" scandal and support him as the best Senator Connecticut ever had??????????
Colin McInroe put it best: Blumenthal's words of support for Perez actually made news. I. Charles Matthews, Thirman Milner and Art Feltman, who were all also running for mayor, expressed concern over the AG's embrace of a man already the subject of a criminal probe.
Apparently with Blumenthal, it doesn't seem to matter what you've done, so long as you have that "D" next to your name!
He supported Perez even after the corruption charges were public, but now he is going to throw Perez under the bus and sue to block him from collecting his pension even though Blumenthal previously called what Perez did a "minor mistake." Sounds a lot like "I served in Vietnam" before "I misspoke." Is there anyone Blumenthal won't sue to make a name for himself?
Shouldn't this raise serious questions about Mr. Blumenthal's credibility, when as the chief law enforcement officer of the state, he makes a statement like this about someone he already knows is the subject of a corruption investigation:
``I have complete trust in Eddie Perez's integrity, his honesty and his dedication,'' Blumenthal said.
Perhaps the Jury didn't get the memo from Blumenthal????
Just a reminder that State Comptroller Denise Napier campaigned on election day here in New Britain at Vance School on behalf of her friend Tim O'Brien for Mayor. She did this using a state of CT car and driver and on state taxpayer paid, work time. How many of us could do this without being FIRED! She wasn't concerned about it at all. She rolled up in the limo, got out and began working the crowd she was even so blatant as to smooze the republians out in support of Tim Stewart! No worries for her here in New Britain. And, why does she need to campaign in the Mayoral election here at all, she doesn't live here but then we were never sure if Tim O'Brien was a permanent resident of New Britain during his run? We need to FIRE alot of people in November.
And don't forget that Tim O'Brien keeps running his mouth about being so caring about the conditions in the New Britain school district, but do he and his wife continue to send he stepson to a school in another town?????
That's because Tim O'Brien would like to see all of our schools become mini-magnets. If you were at the mayoral debate he has a different idea for schooling all together. That's great for kids who don't thrive on the entire school experience which is demonstrated year after year with our NBHS Band, Music Department, Sports Department and the list goes on. All children in New Britain can receive an excellent, well rounded, education if they want to.
Oh well, this is he the same Blumenthal that holds a press confeence and takes all the credit for getting something done for people on this state when h actually has a bunch of lawyers who do all the work and he takes all the credit. You'd think he was a one man show.

Maybe he will lie his way out of this one too?
Birds of a feather!

ReplyDeleteAs usual, O'Brien is full of ideas on everything except how to pay for anything.
