FRANKSMITHSAYSNB EDITORIAL:
In the event that a Republican New Britain Official should be arrested, just like the recent arrest of Rep. Peter Tercyak, it would certainly be front page news in our local paper, however, this Representative happens to be a Democrat and not considered newsworthy by the local publication.
Be it a Republican Alderman or Commissioner of New Britain and the glaring front pages would have an immediate impact of it’s news content with the morning coffee.
It is very hard to understand as to why the local editors seem to give the socialistic & radical Democrats a “FREE PASS” that is never afforded for the Republicans.
UPDATE: Representative Tercyak's court case was continued until Tuesday, June 15 at 10:00 AM when he will be expected to enter a plea in his pending criminal case.
If in the event this official is able to use his clout to pull strings and "fix" this arrest, I have little doubt that would be totally ignored by our local edition of Pravda too!
ReplyDeleteThe delusion from the liberal left is a pathological disorder that can not be fixed.
ReplyDeleteThis entire situation exemplifies the liberal left extremism of the media and press today.
ReplyDeleteIn 2007, Senator Louis DeLuca, a prominent Republican was arrested for conspiracy to commit Threatening, a Class "A" Misdemeanor.
The headlines for weeks were almost non-stop with stories about how DeLuca should resign from the Senate and there were a number of articles calling for his impeachment. At the time of his arrest, DeLucca was the Minority Leader of the Senate, and there were also media calls for his removal from that post.
Last week, State Representative Peter Tercyak was arrested and will be arraigned tomorrow on a charge of Disorderly Conduct, a "Class C" Misdemeanor. So far, only one newspaper was responsible enough to report this arrest, and not even the paper that covers his hometown of New Britain.
Mr. Tercyak is the Deputy Minority Leader of the state House of Representatives. Where are the constant calls from the media for Mr. Tercyak to resign from the House of Representatives, step down from his leadership post, and where all the media calls for his colleagues to impeach him?
Ironically, both men were charged with misdemeanors, and both men were in similar leadership posts.
The only difference is one happened to be a Republican.
FYI The City of New Britain now has an alternative weekly newspaper, The New Britain City Journal. This is FREE publication

or on Facebook, New Britain City Journal. Submit your information, letters to the editor, social announcements, and advertise your business or event.
An unbiased approach to news and events in the Great City of New Britain.
Because nobody gives a rat's ass about republicans!
ReplyDeleteDidn't Senator DeLuca also do a big favor for a New Britain Democratic Senator to help him qualify for a state pension???
ReplyDelete"Ironically, both men were charged with misdemeanors, and both men were in similar leadership posts." One arrest was a threat to harm someone the other was an arrest to try to help someone...hmmm. No difference there!
ReplyDeleteI am a Peter Tercyak supporter and I hope that the Herald covers his arrest. I believe it will get him even more votes. This is a working class city built on labor...or by labor. This is what Tony Tercyak was all about, fighting for the little guy.
Peter, keep up the good work.
The American Labor Union historically was to protect organized workers at the turn of the century ie: railroad workers, laborers, women and children. During healthy times and prosperity in this country, Unions will lose ground such as it is recorded during the 1950's. As this country continued to prosper, Union leaders bullied their way to protecting their own money making
ReplyDeletebusiness, The Union. Unions became known as criminal entities. Guilty of controlling industry, fragmenting political parties and having the ability to shut down our goverment's decision making process in congress.
If you really look at where we have come over 150 years the need for the Union in the areas where they are strongest is no longer necessary. We do have workers that need protection, they can be found in low paying jobs that do not provide for self-reliance or full time work. But then again, what do we tell our children when they do not apply themselves in school, "Do you want to end up working at McDonalds". Even these low paying jobs serve their purpose and employees working there should only be supplementing there income or moving towards gainful employment. We can't unionize the Dunkin Donuts worker.
Mr. Tercyak is elected to serve the public taxpayer and not the Union to which he is a member.
APPARENTLY THIS PERSON IS ACCUSING TERCYAK OF THREATENING VIOLENCE (DISRODERLY CONDUCT CHARGE) BECAUSE WE ALL KNOW THE STORY ABOUT HOW DELUCA WAS ATTEMPTING TO PROTECT A YOUNG GIRL FROM THE VIOLENCE OF AN ABUSER, SO CLEARLY IT IS REPUBLICAN SENATOR LOU DELUCA THAT THIS PERSON IS SO ELOQUENTLY DEFENDING AS "TRYING TO HELP SOMEONE!"

ReplyDeletePerhaps Mr. Tercyak needs to be reminded of this fact on election day, but he will now doubt turn out a bunch of union thugs to go "door knocking" on his behalf to push the radical union agenda and taxpayers like you and I keep paying, and paying and paying for all this nonsense.
This is a working class city built on labor...or by labor. This is what Tony Tercyak was all about, fighting for the little guy.....
ReplyDeleteSince when are unions about fighting for the little guy? In my experience, all unions do is bleed their memberships for more money to pay for their lavish trips to places like Las Vegas or Hawaii where they stay in luxury suites at 5 star resorts drinking and partying at the expense of their dues payers. All they seem to care about is getting higher dues so they can take fancier trips and buy more Cadillacs to carry their fat butts around in.
This is one of the biggest lies ever perpetrated on the working class, that unions actually care about them.
More than ever before, union membership is made up of government workers. Private sector union membership is at a 40 year low while the number of government union workers is skyrocketing, so unless you are one of the bureaucratic fat cats, you are not going to be very supportive of a union anyway.
ReplyDeleteAnybody who knew Tony Tercyak and what a kind hearted, fair, community spririted person he was would never compare the current Tercyak (or should we say Tercyak the lesser) to his father. They are nothing alike in tempermant or productivity. In this instance, not only did the acorn fall far from the tree, its turned into a BIG NUT.
ReplyDeleteMaybe if he actually put those glassess onto his eyes and off his forehead, he can see what's going on in New Britain, the town he's supposed to represent.
I love it! We have little mac the lesser one, and now we have little tercyak the lesser one too!
ReplyDeleteI guess to be a socialist Democrat you must be a lesser one, but certainly can't be an honorable one.

I doubt if Anthony Tercyak would endorse anyone who has been arrested, regardless of who he/she is, regardless of whether or not it is his son.
Wasn't one of the lessons Anthony the teacher often taught responsibility for one's own actions?
ReplyDeleteI agree that the elder Representative Tercyak would be ashamed of the lesser one!
ReplyDeleteHow are you helping someone by sitting in the road and refusing to move until you are arrested?
ReplyDeleteWhat a loon!
At least Mr.DeLuca was trying to protect a young girl from violence, what was this liberal loon doing other than pushing a radical union agenda against a business owner--the same business owners these Democrats always seem to believe need to be punished for owning a business in the first place?
At the time of his arrest wasn't Tercyak representing the same union that Bill O'Reilly just spent about 10 minutes explaining how they are out of control and destroying this country?
ReplyDeleteThe percentage of people that vote and actually pay attention or care about incidents like this one is so small. Again, prediction is this guy wins all over again hands down or should I say, "cuffed behind his back"
ReplyDeletePlease visit www.nbrtc.com/signup and sign up for NBRTC e-mail alerts. And please share this address with friends and encourage them to sign up. The unions, teachers, municpal employees, firefighters, etc. they're all organized. It's time for taxpayers and property owners to get organized too.

ReplyDeleteYou can most likely count on an army of red shirts to come a knockin on your door using every thug tactic available to get their fellow socialist reelected.
Thankfully the unions are not the power they think they are. Unions just spent $90 million attempting to elect Lt. Gov. Bill Halter in Arkansas, because he is a far left radical extremist. After such a big investment in his campaign, the people of Arkansas rejected the radical union candidate and gave the nomination to Blanche Lincoln despite the fact that Lincoln is 25 points behind her Republican/Tea Party opponent.
ReplyDeleteThe fact that the unions couldn't buy a Senate seat for $90 million proves that the unions are not the force the left wing loons think they are.

TO THE COMPLETE IDIOT THAT WROTE THIS " GO TO HELL"
This piece of crap excuse for a legislator is a perfect example for why the financial condition of this state is the worst condition of any state in the nation. Keep voting for garbage like this and watch your state go right down the toilet!

Shows the lack of intelligence of most Democrats. Can't win the fight on the merits because they are not only totally wrong, but against what America stands for, so the only thing a Democrat can do is to resort to calling anyone who opposes their communist agenda childish names.
Try debating on the actual issues next time--oh that's right, you know you will lose every time!
