  1. The only way to encourage jobs creation is to slash the size of state government and eliminate businesses taxes completely and eliminating the personal income tax would also be a move in the right direction. Why not follow the example of the most successful states:

Nevada – has no personal or corporate income tax. Nevada gets most of its revenue from gaming and sales taxes.

Texas (the state that has been held up as the example for all other states to follow– no personal income tax or corporate income tax. The Texas Constitution places severe restrictions on passage of a personal income tax and use of its proceeds. Texas is the largest state in the lower 48, but it has the smallest legislature. It's legislature meets only once every other year, and is made up of less than half the legislators Connecticut has. When a Texas legislator recently proposed amending their constitution to allow the legislature to meet annually, the voters went ballistic because they realize the more these people meet, the more damage they can do.

Wyoming – has no personal or corporate income taxes.

If these states can do it and be so successful, why can't we?

  2. We do need a Governor like Weicker, someone who has the fortitude to stand up to the socialist Democrats in the legislature.

  3. The difference is those states are "right to work" states--which means NO UNIONS!
