Dr. Doris Kurtz has submitted her retirement intention by her setting the date of June 2011.

FRANKSMITHSAYSNB EDITORIAL:

Her services from this date on can only be considered as a "LAME DUCK ADMINISTRATION"

A buy out of her contract it would cost our city an estimated sum of $250,000; when our city could least afford this assume amount.

It is hopeful she would leave under her own accord without costing our city the aforementioned sum so that our Board of Education can move on with its mission.

  1. Shows us how much she cares for the education of our children...enough to put a dollar amount on it.

    good riddance!

Just imagine what crackpot the lunatic Democrats on the BOE will likely replace her with? Sometimes the devil you know is better than the devil you don't know!

  3. Sharon Saavedra has said that the search for a new Superintendent will begin in August; let's how long it takes to get started.

Also, the BOE should make sure that Kurtz has absolutely nothing to do with the search committee or the search itrself. Neither should any other of the administrators or the Unions.

  4. I guess she never expected to stay long. Didn't I read somewhere that she only rented an apartment instead of buying a house and actually paying some taxes, so that she wouldn't be tied down here?

  5. AMEN AMEN

Now the BOE has to really do their job. They should strip all her powers and only allow her the title.

NO TRIPS< NO SEMINARS< NO SPECIAL LUNCHES FOR HER STAFF

SHE IS NOW A LAME DUCK - - - - DANDEROUS POSITION FOR THIS WITCH>

  6. This is the day we have all prayed for.

I hope Mr. Sanders is there to keep an eye on her

She has to be watched very closely now that she is a lame duck.

  7. The current board of ed has clearly demonstrated that they don't have the will or the ability to keep a close reign on "this witch."

  8. when you have the votes you can do whatever you want. Kurtz does not have the votes any longer. This was proven when the vote was severely split for renewing her contract. Her contract WAS NOT RENEWED. Therefore she decided ti retire Now that Kochol and Walski are off the board she has no one to support her.

I have seen Mr. Sanders try very hard but the DEMS would always out vote him.

You are assuming the Dems will appoint a replacement who will want to fix it, and not destroy the school system even further. Apparently you attended New Britain Schools, because you don't even know what ASSUME spells!

  11. Now that she is a lame duck, she will simply coast to her end date, but then again, hasn't she "coasted" for the last nine years anyway?

  12. This is the time to rebuild this once great district.

Now that the three stooges of education ( Kurtz - Mo, Kochol - Larry, Wolski - Curly )are in the past. These three have been worse thing that has ever happened to this district.

  13. In order to rebuild a structure the most important thing is to have a good foundation

The foundation that is here is infested with termites

  14. I manage a human resources department and would like to put my two cents in.

Dr Kurtz record of hiring is the most dismal I have seen. For a person that CLAIMS she is certified in Personnel Practices is a disgrace to those of us that in the profession.

My personal opinion is that I would have her terminated immediately.

Whatever the cost would be would be worth the money.

  15. thopyIt certsinly looks to me that the vote of NO CONFIDENCE in Dr. Kurtz by the Federation of Teachers was not far from wrong.

  17. So where are Sherwood and his radical minions hiding?

He hasn't been heard from since he met his Waterloo over the school budget and his failed attempts to spend taxpayer money to sue the mayor. Did his wife finally get her way?
