S.O.S. - SAVE OUR SOCIAL SECURITY: Cost-of-living adjustments (COLA) are automatically set by a measure adopted by Congress in the 1970s that orders raises for retired seniors based on the Consumer Price Index, which measures inflation.
Social Security Monthly Benefits will remain unchanged (NO COLA) in 2011 as long as consumer prices remain below the level they were at in year 2008.
