" "DeFronzo said one reason for his large victory at the polls on Nov. 2 was his position on the Hartford-New Britain Busway Project.
“Ten thousand people voted for me,” he said. “So, to question my position on this issue is an insult to me personally and to the people who voted for me. It doesn’t help the prospects of the project when I’m attacked personally.”
Don, I imagine if Scott Whipple looks through the Herald archives, he will see your face in a photograph taken at the former Greenfield's property along with Gov. Rell and other state dignitaries hailing the Busway Project as important to New Britain in linking NB and Hartford. You didn't want to miss the opportunity for a photo op.You insinuate that 10,000 folks in NB, Berlin and Farmington agree with you. How conceited! You have fallen prey to your own propaganda. Maybe you've been looking into "The Mirror, Mirror On The Wall." Why is it that transportation officials in CT and Congressman John Larson see it differently? Don't forget that most of that 10,000 votes came from NB. Everybody knows why you get those votes.
If you and the Nicastro boys are so confident, where's your study, plan, proposed route for rail, projected cost, etc.? Has any part of this totally imagined plan been shown to anyone? Who approves of the "plan"? Even Mayor Ward of Bristol is OK with the Busway. Why don't you and the Nicastro boys work on doing something for Bristol? If you were living anywhere but NB you'd never be elected.
People I know did not like Defronzo for mayor even though they voted for him. Like, Obama, he is not what you think that he is. He tends to be a socialist.
All of the incumbents who were elected were voted in because they are either union people with pensions or fAMILIES WITH STATE PENSIONS OR RETIREES WITH PENSIONS.
Can't we have more integrity and patriotism in Ct.? Do CT voters have to be the mosy uninformed voters in America? Duh!
How many times has Defronzo gone on the record as being vehemently opposed to the Busway and while pushing hard for the rail to Bristol because he wants to appease Nicastro.
Since when does Defronzo represent Bristol--especially at the expense of New Britain???
Makes you wonder what might be in it for him personally?
With Connecticut Democrats winning the governor's office for the first time in 24 years, there has been a logjam of political insiders who are now seeking jobs in the incoming administration of Governor-elect Dannel Malloy.
I keep hearing that Defronzo is going to be named his Commissioner of Transportation.
Think we have problems with our highways now? Wait til this socialist gets his hands on all that money! Somehow the federal highway money will find its way to social programs for sure!
You forgot to ask a couple of other questions to Don & the Nicastro boys: (1) If Malloy gives you the DOT job, will you kill the Busway Project? (2) How do your construction union supporters feel about possibly killing 1000 construction jobs? (3) If Malloy wins a second term and you get the DOT job, you will get yet another lucrative pension & will you care about the people whose jobs you have forsaken or the union bosses who will hate you? Probaly not, you've been there and done that.
Too bad his Senator, deFronzo, disagrees with him and supports taking care of Bristol instead of New britain.

Sounds like Mr. D. will have 3 government funded pensions and 3 free health care plans at the expense of the rest of us, doesn't it?
ReplyDeleteI guess refusing to serve your country when you are called upon really pays off in the long run.
