New Britain has a new Alderman

Replacing Alderwoman Sylvia Cruz after she summitted her resignation to the Mayor due to her needing additional surgery. Mr. Emmanuel Sanchez is sworn in By Peter Denuzze the Town Clerk.

  1. I guess Sherwood was serious when he said that this seat belongs to a Puerto Rican?

  2. Anyone is better than Cruz. Maybe this guy will actually show up and stay awake.

  3. Since Cruz did nothing for almost half of a year, will she refuse to take a half of year's pay for her services ?

  4. How can he be any better than Cruz?

Isn't he being appointed to be nothing more than a rubber stamp for the radical agenda of Trulyworhtless and Sherwod?

  5. I guess the city council is becoming a branch of Junior Achievement, or is it that Sherwood is trying to turn his title of being the childish "little boy" over to an even younger, even less experienced youth?

The newly appointed Alderman, who is all of 22, has only 2 things to offer in his public resume:

He lives on Washington Street (whatever that means), and apparently briefly attended Sacred Heart University--without graduating--and is now a student at Tunxis Community College.

He either does not work at all, or the Democratic Party is so ashamed of whatever job he might hold, that they avoid announcing it publicly?

I guess the council is moving in the direction of learning on the job, but then again how hard is it going to be to operate a rubber stamp?

  6. I've heard good things about Mr. Sanchez (who is actually biracial). I actually had the opportunity to speak with this well-mannered and educated young man. He has strong views and perspectives on society, this community and the direction that we are going in. He seems like a middle guy and not a “rubber stamp.” Instead of accusing him of being merely a pawn and easy vote for the “radical agenda,” maybe you should see where his frame of mind is before you judge him.

  7. Nice "kid" but his background and preparation leave a great deal to be desired. Then again, what can you say about Centeno, Platosz, Eva M, Black and Catanzaro? Oh yeah, they are alive (they breathe) and they live in New Britain!!!!

IT IS DIFFICULT TO JUDGE SOMEONE WHO OFFERS ABSOLUTELY NO EXPERIENCE--FROM HIGH SCHOOL TO CITY COUNCIL, BUT THEN AGAIN, WHAT ARE THE DEMOCRATS TRYING TO HIDE, OR HAS HE NEVER EVEN HELD A JOB???

  12. Hey Frank,

Do you think that the two or three
people who post on your blog are retarded ?

  13. The only thing that could be said about this young boy is that he lives on Washington Street. What is it that they are trying to hide?

NOT AT ALL, BUT YOU ARE, DEFINITELY!

  15. It would have been nice to find out a little about the young man before the vote. He thanked his party first when given the opportunity to speak at the meeting. Enough said, we know where his allegiance will lie!

    ReplyDelete
  16. As someone already posted, he is very passionate about his feelings that the Democrats are taking this country in the right direction.

Do you really need to know more?

  17. This is a absolute joke for our taxpayers and registered voters of New
    Britain...NOT BECAUSE OF HIS PERSON...
    BUT HE ACCEPTING THE POSITION...JOKE

  18. You might as well have appointed one of Sherwood's kids or even O'Brien's baby!

    JOKE

  19. This is one of the biggest jokes I've ever seen. Im sure that this blog is very "popular" amongst New Britain natives haha. That was a joke by the way. If you seriously have the nerve to assume who and what he's about without even knowing the young man...Frank I'm sure you've never said a word to him or any of you for that matter. A joke? I personally know that his intelligence exceeds anything you three bloggers have to offer this city in his 22 years of life and he's heavily involved in the community (somthing you all probably aren't). But then again...you are all probably republican gossipers who have nothing more to do but be miserable and have conversations with one another about other people. Unfortunatly, you guys are sad.

  20. To the last post, if one was so involved in ones community then why is it that this "new alderman" has only been involved in "democratic" groups? DTC,OIC,HRA,etc. Community involvement goes beyond the politic for some of you democratic readers. How about the Friendship Center? Library?Museum? TOM? Has he been involved in his community really?

Sir, where did you lear to communicate? Go back and read what you wrote; and you have the nerve to call out Frank for making assumptions??
Manny Sanchez doesn't need anyone of your ilk to stand up for him. Let's see what he knows, what he says and what he does in the next eleven months.
How about if Manny provides the citizens of NB with a personal profile. Perhaps then there will be fewer assumptions.

Wouldn't someone need to teach Manny to write first? As a product of the unionized inferior New Britain school system, I would be amazed if he can even write his own name!

Next time appoint someone who was fortunate enough to attend a very successful non-union private or parochial school, then at least we will be sure he can read and write!

According to this all knowing one, there are only three bloggers on here.

I take exception to this all knowing one's statement because I have seen these people and more posting on here:

    Mayor Tim Stewart
    Alderman Phil Sherwood
    Alderman Mary Morocco
    Police Commissioner Winuk
    Peter Steele
    Craig D'Angelo
    Don Naples
    Sally Eigenraam
    Erin Stewart
    Alderman Pabon
    Alerman Mark Bernacki
    Alderman Louis Salvio
    Johnny Mel
    Cris Carillo
    James Griffin
    Dwight Blint
    James Sanders Jr.
    James Sanders Sr.
    and many more!

I can only presume that this all knowing one is a Democrat, because he/she is demonstrating an inability to count beyond three!

  24. Why are these 2 Aldermen so obviously determined to derail the new police station with one stunt after another?

Could it be political payback to the police department because the cops determined that Sherwood's complaint against the mayor was an unfounded bunch of nonsense?

Is the lesson supposed to be that next time they had better obey the high and mighty one?

    ReplyDelete
  25. It appears to me that the public has every right to be concerned about this appointment, not simply because of this person's age, but because of his obvious lack of any experience--life experience included.

If this person is so imminently qualified for this position, then why was the only thing the Democrats could offer that night for his qualification is that he lives on Washington Street? We all live someplace, which makes that statement by a so-called experienced Alderman utterly ridiculous.

And why is it even now that the only thing they seem to be able to add is that this young gentleman is very passionate that the Democrats are forcing this country to go in what he believes is the right direction, when in fact the overwhelming majority of people in this country feel just the opposite?

Sounds to me from the way these so-called adults are acting, that these radicals are simply appointing a young, inexperienced fellow radical liberal who will serve as little more than a rubber stamp for the childish antics of Sherwood and Trueworthy.

    "you three bloggers"

Rolling on the floor laughing. With over 300,000 hits on the hit counter, these 3 bloggers must be extremely busy!

For you Democrats, that means over 100,000 hits per blogger!

  27. I'm wondering what they are trying to hide about this guy. Why can't they tell us anything about him besides where he lives? What are they ashamed of anyway?

    ReplyDelete
  28. Some of the earlier comments would certainly explain why Sherwood and Trueworthy are apparently going so far out of their way to "Stick it" to the cops by screwing up their new police station.

  29. It is common knowledge how Democrats despise the military, and it appears that they simply hate the police just as much, doesn't it Herr Sherwood?

  30. I’ve been reading the blog on Alderman Sanchez and find it interesting. That this kid is 22 and been appointed as an alderman says a lot more about him then what you guys are presenting on this blog. I know he went to Sacred Heart and now Tunix but why hasn’t he finish? I am surprised that that question is even being asked given the economy. Manny is a prep school graduate, Watkinson, and an honor student. He was accepted to Wesleyan and Trinity colleges on partial scholarship but still proved to expensive for him to be able to handle at the time. (If you are not aware these two schools are amongst the top ten small colleges in the country. I wonder how many writing on this blog were accepted to Ivy or small ivy schools or went to college at all?) He has gotten a year and a half of school under his belt which he has paid for unaided. Commendable is it not?. It must not be lost to you that college loans have to be supported by collateral because of the default rates by the middle class, mostly white, so are virtually unavailable to a young kid having to pay his own way.

When I went to school it was so small we sat in a circle around the teacher from the smartest to the dumbest and I sat next to the head of my class---and from what I am reading you guys blogging here did too. How could you pen this nonsense knowing nothing about Mr Sanchez and having done no research. Discounting the racists on this blog, (yes we still have people in this country whose minds have not evolutionarily surpassed an ape) those with some apparent education are not being fair and are making rash generalizations within the framework of liberal and conservative politics which are far too myopic to be of any use in the judgment of character.

Just consider this. The blogs pointing out that this alderman seat was reserved for someone of the Spanish population is probably correct. It is politics after all. I can remember when Obama was running and 95% of all blacks voted for him and the white voters indignation of that. I also can remember when John F Kennedy ran and 95% of the catholic and 100% of the Irish voted for him but this was interestingly overlooked in white criticism of blacks in this last election. For whatever reason when politics cross racial divides they take on a more harsh nasty tone usually flamed by those lesser minds who usually have bigger mouths. Should we not silence the racists and drop the hypocrisy it is unbecoming an intelligent people.

The questions about experience are engaging. How do you get experience without experience? The answer is you don’t. Every person makes mistakes and learns from those mistakes grows and gets better. There is a peculiar thing about politics that both the liberals and conservatives like to eat their young. There are no paternalistic or maternal instincts just savagery. Why does no one get involved in the political process? This is a common complaint heard on town committees. The answer is because when you put yourself forward you get mauled, just like Mr Sanchez is getting mauled in this blog. He hasn’t even had the time to sit in his chair and make one decision and the “mouth before brain” types start.

G.W.Bush had experience remember. His people appoint a 26 year old attorney to handle the district attorneys and she uses her power to politicize an institution that is the foundation of our democracy. A justice system can not be political or we become Russia. What about the incompetence of the weapons of mass destruction. I’m sure many of you still believe the Arabs have hidden the plutonium under the robes and burqas they wear. Guess that is why Arab women do that ahhahhhahhh thing they do –they have radiation poisoning. Mr Sanchez could have done a better job then these people.

I will do one other thing that cowards on this blog don’t do—sign it. Novel idea taking credit for ones own opinion.
