Hard to believe that Republicans are the so-called "minority party" based on the huge crowd that turned out to support our beloved Republican mayor on his bid for State Senate!
Think Little Mack the lesser one ever got over 400 people for one of his sponsored events?
Stewart Qualifies for Public Financing - Mayor Stewart now seeking campaign workers...
After just one fundraiser, state senatorial candidate, Tim Stewart hit the mark necessary to receive public funding from the state’s Citizens Election Program. On Tuesday 1/18/11, he suspended his fundraising efforts and began calling on supporters to volunteer their time to his campaign - STEWART FOR STATE SENATE.
At an event held at the New Britain VFW on Friday 1/14/11, about 400 area residents donated more than the $11,250 that Stewart needed to qualify for Citizens Election Program (CEP) . Mayor Stewart, the GOP candidate for the 6th senatorial district seat, said he was extremely grateful to his supporters, which include Republicans, Democrats and unaffiliated voters. We look forward to running a clean campaign and discussing real issues, especially since this is a time when our state is facing massive budget deficits and municipal aid is certain to be cut, Stewart said.
Stewart said his record, which includes holding the line on taxes in City of New Britain, controlling spending and spurring economic development, shows that he is the kind of legislator central Connecticut needs in Hartford.
The seat Stewart is running for represents New Britain, Berlin and a portion of Farmington. Stewart said because the special election cycle is short – Election Day is scheduled for February 22, he needs as many people as possible to help make telephone calls, stuff envelopes and assist with other outreach efforts.
This race is very critical to the future development of central Connecticut – we can’t tax and spend our way out this problem. We are calling on taxpayers to stand up, come out and make a difference. It’s time we changed the direction of our state and make Connecticut more affordable to families and to businesses, Stewart said.
Sounds like the Democrats are coming unglued out of jealousy because their extremist candidate couldn't get enough contributions to qualify for the funding!
You will soon hear that what's her name, the lib opposing Tim Stewart, opted to pass on the public financing, but in reality, she couldn't muster the needed support to qualify for it because she is such a radical extremist.
NEW BRITAIN — With a month to go in the campaign for state Senate, Mayor Tim Stewart is telling his supporters to skip making campaign donations but instead volunteer their time in his campaign.
Stewart raised more than $11,250 at an event last week, GOP Town Chairman Dwight Blint said. More than 400 people from the 6th Senate District donated money, enough to make Stewart eligible for funding through the taxpayer-financed Citizens Election Program. Under public financing rules, Stewart cannot accept further private donations.
Tim Stewart who has been mayor for seven years, is running in the February 22, 2011 special election for the 6th senatorial district seat vacated by Democrat Don DeFronzo earlier this month.
Stewart has established a campaign website at http://stewartforstatesenate.com, where he is asking supporters to make phone calls and put up lawn signs - "STEWART FOR STATE SENATE" - in New Britain, Berlin and a portion of Farmington.
Tim Stewart said because the special election cycle is short – Election Day is scheduled for February 22, he needs as many people as possible to help make telephone calls, stuff envelopes and assist with other outreach efforts in the STEWART FOR STATE SENATE race.
Little Mack the lesser one seems to have lost track of the prize, or is it that he is such a zealot that he simply can't help himself when it comes to forcing radical extremists onto the public of New Britain.
What is a better prize for these socialists, to get one seat in a Senate they already control, or to get their hands on the crown jewel--one of their own radical socialists sitting behind the mayor's desk?
Clearly they are not going to get the crown jewel so long as Tim Stewart, the most popular New Britain mayor I recall in my lifetime, wants to keep doing the fabulous job he continues to do, so their only chance is to swarm in like locusts after Mr. Stewart moves on to what he perceives is a better opportunity.
I suppose that Little Mack is so consumed by his zealousness, that he probably believes he will put one of his own into the Senate and then in November put another one of his hand picked extremists into the mayor's office by defeating 4 term mayor Tim Stewart.
If Little Mack can't put his own agenda aside, he may just end up with the booby prize in the Senate.

The special Feb. 22 election between Theresa "Terry" Gerratana and mayor Timothy Stewart may become a heated political contest based on some recent political history.
In 2009, when state Rep. Timothy O’Brien was challenging Tim Stewart for the mayor’s office, Theresa Gerratana’s son, Greg, was suspended without pay from his state job for a week after posting derogatory comments about Mayor Stewart on the New Britain Herald’s newspaper website from Creg's state computer in Hartford.
At that time, Greg Gerratana worked as Rep. O’Brien’s legislative aide, but Greg was reassigned by House Speaker Chris Donovan following the incident and Greg still works today for the General Assembly in Hartford.

Just another fine example of Democrats redistributing our hard earned money to people they believe deserve your money more than you do.
I guess you can't get that many selfish Democrats to show up in one place unless you ply them with free food and booze!
ReplyDeleteJust more of the "what's in it for me" attitude of most Democrats!
A Republican taking taxpayer money for campaigning?
ReplyDeleteFor shame

THIS SHOULD PROVE TO BE AN EMPTY ROOM FOR SURE.
Will Sanchez be bringing his little nephew, the Alderman, or as a liquor establishment would he need to be an adult to enter the function?
ReplyDeleteMaybe the club has a jungle gym out back for the younger Sanchez.
