NEW BRITAIN’S HERALD STYLE OF REPORTING WHICH IS ONE SIDED.

In today’s edition the Herald was quick to single out a Republican candidate, who was not elected, but was recently arrested. But when a Democrat is arrested the Herald fails to report the incident.

Representative Peter Tercyak was arrested by the Hartford Police with the Hartford Courant not only carrying the story but placed a colored photo of the police taking him away in handcuffs. Why didn’t the Herald carry this story? Could it be that he is a Democrat and not a Republican?

Yes, the fellow zealots politicians that share the editorial staff’s liberal extremism with the majority of the public rejecting their one sided reporting style.

By not reporting this incident did the Herald do an injustice to its readers and voters by ignoring this newsworthy story which may have made a difference with this representative's re-election bid?   Maybe, Just Maybe, The Democratic Party would have not selected him to run again.

Again, I repeat------"one sided reporting."

Sadly, this paper is being referred to as a local rag when it was once revered as an excellent newspaper.

I am sure we all remember Mrs. Brown with her demanding excellence in reporting the news from all her reporters and editors.

  1. Free James Brown, Free James Brown, Free James Brown ( and Cris). The Herald is no longer a NEWS paper as Frank points out. It's a said day when out of town or out of state papers report news about New Britain before our 'Hometown' paper. Plus I should point out that Phil Sherwood needs to be Arrested for his actions. But do you think that the Herald would ever report that story, or the NBDTC would allow that to happen ???

  2. I'll bet the City Journal would have reported such a major story, had they been around last year.

  3. I'm sorry the spell check on my phone changed sad to said. So let me clarify. It's a sad day when our hometown paper is anti New Britain.

  4. I stopped getting The Herald many years ago. I fondly remember all of the quality people who were employed during those years. I was in a position to work with them.

This rag should be run out of town, an embarrassment to all of the former employees.

As long as people keep subscribing to The Herald they will stay in business.

  5. Not only should you not subscribe to this rotten rag, but don't even read it online. Every time you click on their page, you help generate revenue for their online advertising, so I ask, why help this bird cage liner stay in business by helping generate revenue for them?

  6. I would call the Herald toilet paper, but I would be afraid to expose my lower extremities to such noxious waste.

  7. Let me try to understand this correctly:

A sitting State Representative from New Britain is arrested by Hartford Police and a Hartford newspaper finds the arrest of our state representative so newsworthy that they feature a full color photo of the representative be hauled away in handcuffs. The New Britain Herald, the paper of record for this representative's district, found his arrest to be "not newsworthy" for they never printed a word about it--apparently because he is a fellow liberal extremist Democrat and shares the radical views of the editors.

Now a person who is basically a nobody who once ran for office some time ago but lost, goes and gets arrested, but this time the nobody is a Republican. Of course the Herald's response was to hold the presses and feature a page one story about a nobody getting arrested simply because he is a Republican.

And they wonder why no one wants to read their rag?

  9. I guess that explains why they never investigated the reports that said state representative doesn't even live in his district even though it seems to be common knowledge in town?

  11. I've said it before. If the Herald leaned anymore left, it would tip over.

  12. Let's be honest folks, there's a difference with conducting civil disobedience with the INTENT of getting arrested in a coordinated effort with police and getting arrested because your IP address was subpoened by a judge and you were caught in the act of breaking the law.

What actions should Phil be arrested for Mr. Zembko?

  13. Oh Please, Pete didn't intend to get arrested, it was not a coordinated effort with police. Our state rep was protesting a nursing home to make them union. While wearing a shirt that had the state house logo and name on it. I would say Carillo was just goofing around to blow off steam because of Phills jackass attitude. I looked at the website before and every word was true.

And I agree Sherwood should have been arrested for filing a false police report, and making false statements against the Mayor for his own political and financial gain. JUST TO START WITH.

  14. " It has become a common tactic of the Lib Dems, led by Mr.Sherwood, to file false criminal complaints against their opponents in an attempt to silence and intimidate them. It is time for the police department to use it's authority to stop them before it becomes a target of one of these complaints

  15. Didn't Mr. Sherwood once post something on here about his ability to control who the police arrest?

I remember reading something like that a while back when Sherwood himself used to be a regular poster on here.

  16. Here is a funny little thing to note, Pete Tercyak's docket is sealed / removed from view. How strange is that. He Was ARRESTED, charged, and in court, but now its gone. Even if it was dropped or he was cleared it it should still be there....Hmmm whats going on here ?.....Looks like another story to come soon on Pete Tercyak

I also agree that Phil should be arrested for his false police reports, and making false statements about the Mayor.
