THE DEMOCRATIC MAYORAL CANDIDIATES FOR THE CITY OF NEW BRITAIN.

All four candidates were given an opportunity to speak to the committee members:

Alderman Paul Catanzaro cited that all the past 25 years he has been in the city he has been capable of bringing people together as a union leader, as former constable, as former police auxiliary member, as a member of the Ambulance organization, his HRA affiliation, and a current City Alderman. "That is what I am all about by bringing people together." "And being for people."

Mrs. Barbara Kirejczk a former City Alderwoman and a local business owner and not just an employee, a former school teacher, claiming that manufacturing is on its way back to New Britain. We need to enhance "Mathematics" in our schools so our children can qualify when job seeking. "As a business owner I have the background and experience to run the city government." Additionally, she announced that she was asked by the business community to seek the office of mayor.

Former Mayor Lucian Pawley cited his record as the city's mayor as being his main attribute for being selected by the Democratic Town Committee however, he added that he knows he will not receive the committee's nod and indicated that he will take papers out to primary the committee's selection.

State Rep. Tim O'Brien gave his usual sermon with his hands swinging back and forth however, when asked by a committee member on how he stands on raising taxes? O'Brien somewhat ignored a direct answer with his blaming the Republicans for the increase of taxes. But when a committee member pressed O'Brien with his voting record he replied by mentioning education quality, people are losing hope and not seeing a future. He continued by stating that we have to "turn it around from the ground up."

  1. If O'Brien cares so much about the quality of education in New
Britain, why do he and his wife send his stepson to an out of town school???

  2. Was the sweat shaking off his sweaty palms as Timmy shook his slimy palms at the crowd?

  4. I do not believe that any of the candidates have ever been suspended for NOT showing up for work or for consistainly being LATE for work. He had a 30 day suspension with NO PAY.

If he were elected (GOD FORBID) would he be late reporting to city hall.

Cantazero is LAZY. Joe Harper (his campaign manager) would be running the city.

  5. Is that the best the Democrats in New Britain can do?

Joe Harper who no longer lives in New Britain is bright enough to know that Paul is not bright at all and should never be elected. He hates O'Brien.

Tim O'Brien did nothing for New Britain or its education all the time he was in the state legislature.

Kireczyk consistently refers to herself as a business owner. Her father owned the company which was taken over by her husband and then by her children. She is a legend in her own mind. She is very dated at 70. When she was a teacher it was a different world ago!

Lucian is looking for a job. By running as an Independent, he will hurt some one else. He had his turn. Time to move on...

  6. Frank:

First of all, where was Mayo; not invited?

Which one of the four has held any "job" lately other than sucking off of the government? Ask any of them a question about how government works and all you'll get is a rambling bunch of autobiographical nonsense that is, a non answer. Which one can demonstrate how any part of his/her formal education is applicable to running a city?
Which one of the four actually appreciates that ours is a government of laws, not of people. These four have been involved in the obverse, i.e., skirt or bend the law whenever they have a personal or financial interest, e.g., chronically late for work, not at work, don't work, personal interests overshadow the city's welfare!!!

    What a bunch of "nothings."

  7. You could sum it up to say the Democrats ARE the party of nothings.

  9. Look at the absolute "nothings" they have on the council. When the only good thing you can offer about a council appointment is that he lives on a certain street in town, that is really scraping the bottom of the barrel even for low life Democrats.
