  1. I'm amazed at how o many democrats continue to paint Stewart's administration as adversarial. With whom? The idiots on the CC? The BOE who continues to stick it in the city's backside year after year without any discussion on consolidation to which Stewart's administration has tried to do albeit unsuccessfully, especially when the other side (BOE) is the unwilling party. And then to say that a better relationship with CCSU is necessary? Where have you been you snotty nosed partisan hack? Apple didn't fall too far from the tree as I can see it !!!!

  2. Frank:

How blatant can one newspaper be about supporting one political party over any other in the City of New Britain? It's absolutely sickening!

The insertion of the names of Dem candidates for municipal office into articles where they have no purpose has actually become a laughable matter for any who pay attention.

Today's puff piece on Dave DeFronzo is a beautiful example, thrust into the political scene just in time - after the endorsement session of the political parties - and to give this candidate free advertising for his campaign; especially, his contrary views on the Stewart administration. Yes, the Herald can support anyone it chooses but this is so blatant, disquieting and unprofessional.

Also despicable was that the Herald allowed this candidate to denigrate an economic development proposal of the Stewart administration, a proposal for which Council Democrats are dragging their feet setting up yet another information session - probably the 6th - re the proposal. Along with the familiar name of the candidate comes the familiar mantra of the NB Democrats, to wit, obstruct, obstruct, obstruct!

P.S. The Herald has now said this piece is one in a series on all candidates running for municipal office this coming November.

  3. How strange this Deocrat paper picks on young DeFranzo to write about amd completely ignore the perenial BOE candidate Jim Sanders.

In a recent blog about his endorsement it was mentioned that Mr. Sanders was running for an eigth term for the BOE, My calculations that means 32 years.

If my history of New Britain is accurate that his previous 28 years is a milestone and now his 32
years is astrnomical and a bookmark for NB historian. This would make him the longest serving elected official in the history of New Britain.

I have watched him the last few years and he seems to have much vigor as a 30 year old.

He just got (first ever) a "life time achievment award" form the BOE

But becaise he is a Republican the Herald doesn't care. The Council should give him special recognition.

COACH ypu have me vote and my families votes.

  4. Then why didn't the article start or finish saying, this is the first
of each of the interviews and articles that will be conducted with all candidates. We all know what side of isle the rag is on. Makes one want to puke.

  5. I think that the complaints forced The Herald to say that they were going to highlight everyone. That ought to be a stretch as some of these candidates have nothing in their resumes or any vision.

As for DeFronzo...he is a gym teacher in the elementary school. Is this a waste of his intelligence or proof that he does not have any and got the job because his father might be helpful to the school district which he wasn't!

Why start with him? He is the least experienced.

  6. The Attorney General’s has rendered a statement clearing the Yankee Institute of accusations made by SEBAC:

“We appreciate this full and speedy exoneration by Attorney General Jepsen. We regret that SEBAC’s wild accusations wasted his time, the Auditor’s time, and that of their staffs. We all have better things to do.

From the start, the Yankee Institute called SEBAC’s charges paranoid and delusional, and said making reckless accusations without a shred of evidence damaged the union’s credibility.

Rank and file state employees deserve better for their dues than the stunning incompetence of union staff throughout the concessions ratification process. The unions like to say they stand up for working people.

The group that really stands up for Connecticut’s working people – the three million taxpayers who provide the salaries and benefits of government workers – is the Yankee Institute
    .
The unions can file harassing complaints with the Attorney General to try to silence us. They can pressure our landlord to rescind our lease. But we will not be intimidated from defending Connecticut’s taxpayers.

SEBAC has defamed and slandered the Yankee Institute, and abused the state’s whistleblower law with false and unsubstantiated accusations. #30#

  7. AS if either DeFronzo knows the first thing about jobs?

Has either of them ever held a job in the private sector, or as I suspect, has the entire family existed by bleeding the government their entire lives?

  8. To his credit David DeFronzo is very articulate. One day probably sooner than later we will see that he has changed careers from gym teacher to career polititian. He grew up in it and understands the financial benefits associated with climbing the political ladder. The democratic political machine and underworld is exactly the demise of the United States. Voters flock to drink the juice and then love to complain about how bad things are going after the fact.
Unsuspecting, blind, hardworking voters would be shocked at the amount of money that circulates in the democratic party. The money flows from so many sources in state out of state, the government.
They have what it takes because they are flush with funds while the American public keeps getting poorer and poorer and the democrats would have everyone believing that rich Republicans are to blame. There is nothing further from the truth. Dave DeFronzo, on his way, following in his father's footsteps. He is a very smart man.

  9. Exactly why I wrote about Jim Sanders. He is very popular amoung the voters and hisnown party does not recognize him.

He helped me through my teen years and inspired me to go to college and be successful in life.
