THE PELOSI SYNDROME HAS TAKEN OVER THE DEMOCRATIC COUNCIL MEMBERS: "WE HAVE THE VOTES."

FRANKSMITHSAYSNB EDITORIAL:

Without any hesitation the democratic side of the isle overrode the Mayor's veto with Alderman Michael Trueworthy chairing the meeting in the Mayors absence also voted in spite to the fact as the acting chair of the meeting he can only vote to break ties.

They showed no concern to the Mayor's warning within his veto message repealing his actions would cause more layoffs especially when he noted " the changes of the Democratic majority on the council are determined in caucus and give appearance of favoritisms to those agencies that have political or personal connections to the Council members. This lack of transparency is a disservice to those organizations that are relying on the public process, rather than the private conversations, to make the case for their programs."

"It's all about who you know is more important in the decision making process than the actual need of the organizations."

Conflicts of interest has no meaning these power grabbers when in fact the OIC and HRA has ties to the Democratic Council members but they also demonstrate little concern for the HUD'S funding mandates to the city's department of Municipal Development because "Because we have the votes."

In short, the Voters "are dammed by these Democratic Council neophytes" and should express their dismay on election day by replacing all eleven Democrats for new representatives that will demonstrate concerns for the city's welfare rather than their own expressed attitudes " we have the votes."

Everyone should remember Pelosi's now infamous comment, "... we won, now we can do what we want." Most council democrats have shown the same tendencies, just vote as you're told, you don't or won't have to think about anything. What a sorry bunch. Thir total acumen can be measured in nanometrics.

  2. Why does the Council have a handbook related to the rules of running a meeting? Rules made by their own peers, no wonder our meeting are the laughing stock of Ct.

  3. How can the acting mayor vote from the mayor's seat?

Anyone with half a brain knows that the chair of a meeting can not vote on matters pending before the chair!

  4. To these liberal lunatic zealots, it is nothing but a game. They don't seem to care it is our hard earned money they are playing games with, or they simply don't care since most of their constituency doesn't work and doesn't pay any taxes, so the majority of Democrats have absolutely no skin in the game.

The Democratic Party is defining itself as the party of freeloaders.

  6. Many of our council members are just as whacked out as nutjob Pelosi is!

In a perfect world, these lunatics would be in cages in the zoo!

  7. The fact that these people keep getting elected lends support, to the belief of many, that there are very few ethical Democrats left in New Britain.

  8. When the x-Beer Salesman from New Britain received those three letters of intent from the three down town Hartford Department Stores, he launched the community message about a West Farms Mall shoping complex adjacent to the I-84 Inter State Highway System, was now on the drawing board with three major Hartford stores signed up.

But, the folks in the surrounding neighborhoods of single family homes in Newington, West Hartford and Farmington launched their counter attack, with two Court Case's against the WestFarms Mall Association, that generated certain controlling conditions on types of business that would not be allowed to locate in the Mall complex.
