Government workers welcome to the real world. You all have been lucky this far to have such stable jobs. The real world is a little more rough where things like layoffs are common place. Better start practicing your interviewing skills. I'm happy that I found a job even though it pays half of what I used to get paid.
The big shock for state employees would be that a private employer would actually expect them to work during their 8 hour shift, not sleep at their desk, run personal errands in their state cars, etc, etc.
