Alderman Trueworthy urged his Democratic membership to turn down this proposal since it was the only proposal.
" Let's put out to bid again."
Even after the Process was explained to the Alderman by Mr. Kenneth Malinowski.
Alderman Sanchez, a Democrat, voted for the sale voicing his reluctance to side with his leadership on the issue. This sale would have provided much needed income to the city but the Demos demostrated their lack of leadership on behalf of all the citizens and voters of the City.
This is not the only sale that was stopped by the Democrats we can all remember the Pinnicle Heights fiasco with their asking "where is the beef" comment.
And now they are ready to oppose the Costco deal as well even after their consultants provided that they were going to pay for all the cost even to adding an extra lane to the highway entrance and exist.
The Taxpayers are the losers for voting for these incompetants to represent them.

When Mayor Tim Stewart asked if those involved in the Costco petition were serious, the Democrats on the NB Common Council still handed Mayor Stewart their petition on 08/10/11 asking for a meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 6 between Mayor Stewart, the Costco Corp. and the Planning and Zoning Commission of the Common Council to discuss all plans on the proposed Costco Project adjacent to the Target Store on Route 71 and Route 9.
ReplyDeleteAlderman Larry Hermanowski stated that citizens have been coming to Council hearings for the past few months talking about the Costco plans. And, for informational purposes at Zoning Hearing is it the Costco Plan A, B or C on west side or east side of Hartford Road.
Plan B on east side of Hartford Road will require cooperation between the City and town of Newington, as well as the State of Connecticut.
The rejection of the Community Builders plan for the Saint Thomas Aquinas property by the City Council made Aldermen Trueworhty, DeFronzo and Hermanowski look very foolish because what they have done is to allow the blight to continue in this neighborhood.
ReplyDeleteAnd nothing will happen with this property for years to come.
They have also displayed to all developers that they are not welcomed in New Britain.
I strongly suggest that the voters vote these aldermen out of office this November.
Mark Fortin's Remark went unheeded by the City Council Democrats when he said that "we have to do something with the Saint Thomas Aquinas property and get tax dollars for the city."
ReplyDeleteCould it be that the Democrats, has I stated before on this blog, be planning to turn the Saint Thomas Aquinas property over to the Friendship Center?
ReplyDeleteWhich will add more room, for the homeless needing help from the city, into the neighborhood.
That would be perfect for this neighborhood, a homeless shelter that will bring nothing but bums and drug addicts to the neighborhood preying on any innocent victims who are dumb enough to be caught out on the street putting themselves out their to be robbed by their new neighborhood junkies.
ReplyDeleteThis is the Democrat's vision for the future of New Britain--inserting a regular supply of junkies and thieves into our residential neighborhoods--making sure it is never again safe to venture outside beyond your locked doors and the new bars you will need to put on all your windows to keep out all the bums.
One of the most ridiculous arguements I have ever heard Getting pigeonholed into voting for only one proposal was Trueworthy's excuse for not voting for the sale. The property was put out for an RFP and the only company to bid was Community Builders so what other proposal could be put before the council then? Doesn't take a rocket scientist to do that math. Lets see how the "neighborhood" likes the blighted school in their neighborhood for the next ten years! Thanks to the "anti-blight" democrats on the council for once again doing nothing and stalling progress in the city!
ReplyDeleteTrueworthy really helped his cause by having one of his temper tantrums, completely ignoring Mayor Stewart's suggestion that he quiet down and vote.
ReplyDeleteWhy voters continue to vote for Trueworthy is beyond me. The November election is coming up soon; hopefully the voters will finally decide to vote him out of office!

The local Democratic Party under the leadership of a radical extremist like little mack the lesser one might as well now adopt the image of a junkie shooting up heroin as their logo, because that is all these families are going to see on their sidewalks and in their neighborhood allies and doorways once this property gets turned into the largest homeless shelter in the state. Other cities and towns will be paying to ship all their bums and drug addicts to this once quiet neighborhood and you will have little mack and his minions to thank for turning your neighborhood into something that resembles the South Bronx.
ReplyDeleteFORT APACHE NEW BRITAIN!
Why are you against drug addicts?
ReplyDeleteAccording to our socialist Governor, Drug addicts are productive members of our society, so according to the Democrat's logic, loading this neighborhood with thousands of druggies roaming the streets would be an improvement to this neighborhood--making it more productive!
Hey Lou, once upon a time I told you about Manny Sanchez! I respect the fact that you sign your blogs sir. But every once and a while, even the ultra conservatives have to give a nod to those that understand that there are free thinkers in this life that can add a lot of value to their communities. Manny is one of them. Had these anonymous bloggers had there way, Manny never would have had the opportunity to work with New Britain to make it a better community.
