IN TODAY'S NEW BRITAIN HERALD EVA MAGNUSZEWSKI CITES HER reasons of the NON-SUPPORT FOR THE SAINT THOMAS AQUINAS SCHOOL SALE.
She stated that she is a graduate of the school and was for the proposal but changed her mind from calls and emails she received.
Could it be this change was caused by the Friendship Center's desire to take over this property in order to provide apartments for the homeless in our city?
Also, it’s the Democratic plan to deny the Stewart administration to get a sale of this property thus preventing adding a taxable property to the city's tax rolls.
It is assumed, by the Democratic leadership, that this property is best suited for a homeless shelter and will provide the city with no new tax income but will add the maintenance cost of the structure to the city's taxpayers.
I am sure that since this neighborhood residents opposed the sale proposal they will not be happy to be sharing their area with druggies.

Eva tries to paint herself as something she is NOT, i.e., some kind of a leader. My sources tell me that she became Majority Leader because nobody else wanted the job. Watch a Council meeting on TV and you will see that Trueworthy onloy allows her to preside over public participation.
ReplyDeleteAs for the Aquinas proposal, if as Eva says she listened to the people she would remember that as many spoke for the proposal as against it. It was only after Mike T's incoherent and maniacal tirade that Eva and others went against it. Only Manny Sanchez of the Dems voted in favor. The rest of the Dems followed like the sycophants that they are.
Perhaps the antis will be happier looking at a blighted property as it gets worse and worse.
This is one of the rare occasions where the common council actually listens to area residents regarding a option/decision.
ReplyDeleteWhat the area doesn't know is behind the scenes, the Friendship Center is eyeing the St.Thomas Aquinas Property for expansion. There are no other offers. The Friendship Center will not provide any new tax revenue but will provide new jobs and incentives from the government? How many of the residents on the East End would like to see a new government funded housing proposition in their neighborhood?
Vote for Eva and Mike and Tim O for mayor because they stopped a viable, affordable housing option for working persons in your neighborhood and be thankful for what you wished for? No complaints on the other end.
Eve is nothing but a follower. That is why the "M" in Eva M stands for mushbrain!
ReplyDeleteI'd be surprised if she could muster up enough brain power to come in from the rain.
ReplyDeleteEva is such a brainless puppet, I doubt she even knows why she voted against it. Whenever her lips move, it is simply little mack the lesser one talking through her empty head.
ReplyDeleteNothwithstanding what anyone feels personally about Eva or any other candidate, it serves no intellectual or other purpose for opponents to engage in any type of personal attacks.
ReplyDeleteUse your vote to deny them office. Attacking anyone's personal attributes is nasty and unproductive, especially using aliases.

LOU: WELL SAID.

Lou is showing himself to be a R.I.N.O. by defending little mack's minion, but then again wasn't he a Democrat for many years?
ReplyDeleteLou is correct. I cringe reading those derogatory remarks. Back it up with substance.
ReplyDeleteTwo years ago at this time, these columns were filled with statements against Catanzaro for alderman. He came in as the alderman with the most votes.
Put your money where your mouth is!

Who cares where it came from, especially if it is accurate?

The comment above deserves a response. The steps one takes in life do not indicate what they are, only what they have decided to be. Your classification of me is unimportant and stupid.
Embryologically, sir (poster quoted above), I guess your whole being developed into what should have been a small part of your embryo, namely, a proctodeum.
Through his use of $10 words, Lou is obviously attempting to demonstrate that he is no longer a Democrat because no Democrat could even read any of these big words, let alone know their meaning.
ReplyDeleteWhatever the motivation, he is acting like a horse's petute.

To the poster of the above quote: The message from Lou was as simple as you seem to be, namely, leave Eva alone, she is a good soul. Lou was trying to hide calling the name that describes you perfectly (a_ _ _ _ le). Nickel words good enough for you?
With the city wanting to attract new businesses to fill Pinnacle Heights and other areas throughout the city, rather than making properties such as the former St. Thomas Aquinas school into low income apartments, shouldn't these properties be made into apartments for the working class? The council should keep in mind that New Britain is not just for low-income residents. There are those of us, including council members, who want to attract more middle-class residents, opposed to lower class residents. Let's get with the program!!
ReplyDeleteIf she really was a good soul, how could she have that socialist/communist "D" next to her name!
ReplyDeleteI guess with Eva's vote, Lou might win this time by 3 votes!
ReplyDeleteIt just goes to show that "There are more horses proctodeum's than there are horses.

WOW, loud mouth Lou has nothing more to add. Could it be possible that Lou is finally speechless?
ReplyDeleteFrank,
ReplyDeleteYou don't know that all homeless people are drug addicts.
Or that people with homes are not notorious drug addicts.
This economy is the worst I've seen in my 50 years.
People who were rich business owners are now living in these shelters.
Whether you have them in a shelter or out on the street, they are in your communities.
The only way to elevate the city is to get these poor slobs back to work. Most of them are out there twisting in the wind because of some personal trajedy or infirmity.
A guy's wife or kid gets sick and runs up an impossible tab of medical bills.
Or he gets wiped out by a hit and run driver.
These are all true stories about people living here in New Britain, about whom I have not yet written.
I personally agree with you about the land use in this case.
But I think you need to be a little bit more open minded -- especially when it comes to Eva.
On a brighter note, I see that Lou Salvio is signing his name and taking the moral high ground.
Maybe there is hope for the GOP after all.
Rick Guinness
Does that now mean Lou Salvio may advertise in his campaign literature that he is endorsed by Rick Guinness?
