MAYOR O'BRIEN MAKING HIS EFFORTS MORE MEANINGFUL:

While Mayor O'Brien was walking downtown with Alderman Rha Sheen Brown by the Berkowitz Building, with Reverend Brown shouting into the TV cameras these landlords should be made to pay the $250 fines, for each of the violations.

The Mayor would have been utilizing his time to a better positive if he had shown Alderman Brown where the Tax collector's office is.

  1. Perhaps the new mayor could redistribute rahsheen's taxes to people who deserve his money more than he does if only he would pay them?

  2. Frank; What is more disturbing is the fact that the Mayor knew of the Browns tax delinquency and he went right ahead and appointed Mrs. Brown to the Police commission with her owing some back taxes.

    Is this Socialism?

  3. Maybe the preacher should reach deep into his own pocket for a change?

  4. This absolutely ridculous for the Mayor to parade this man around town. Rev. Brown should resign and take his wife with him. This is a potent reason why the woking families will destroy this beautiful city.

  5. It was my impression that anyone who ran for office was in good standing, meaning all taxes were paid. Ginter was forced to pay his back taxes, why should Brown and the rest be any different?

  6. Perhaps the voters who support these socialists don't care whether RhaSheen ever pays his taxes because so many of the Democrats have never worked a day in their lives or ever paid a dime in taxes either. Remember, Democrats are the ones looking for a lifetime free ride on the idiots who are dumb enough to work and pay taxes when they too could be living their entire lives free off the government. What would these Democrats do if they didn't have Republicans willing to work and pay taxes to fund their free rides? Who would there be to pay for their lifetime of entitlements?

  7. Wasn't it Newt Gingrich who said that Democrats are the party of welfare checks while Republicans are the party of jobs and pay checks?

  8. Newspapers - the Fourth Estate -tend to attract an older demographic audience, one that is used to and prefers reading a physical newspaper and tends not be be as web savvy as the computer, etc. younger generation.

However, as nature takes its course, that key audience continues to age and unfortunately die, taking away the readership that print newspapers have relied on for so many years.

  9. National suicide starts with New Haven Mayor DeStefano's "Sanctuary City" plan of "Voting Rights" tp "Illegal Aliens".

Having made New Haven a "sanctuary city," where local government nullifies federal immigration law by awarding city identification cards to illegal aliens to facilitate their lawbreaking, Mayor John DeStefano now proposes to allow illegals to vote in municipal elections in Connecticut.

  10. After 175 years in Hartford, Colt's move to Kissimmee, Florida marks the first time that Colt has considered any U.S. operations outside of Connecticut. According to The Hartford Courant, United Auto Workers (UAW) members met in Newington where they learned that part of the company's plan is to freeze jobs at the West Hartford plant and begin cutting them in the 2012 New Year. The UAW represents 350 workers at the plant in West Hartford.

  11. It's too bad about Herman Cain and his sexual indescretions.... I would have loved to prove the democrats wrong and shove it up their liberal asses when I placed my vote for him. They love to call conservative, hard working, American citizens racists because we recognize Obama sucks and those that worship the democratic, socialist program are ruining this once great country.

As for the local reverend... please make sure you pay your taxes before you make decisions about how I spend mine. Thank you very much.

.....More correctly would be to say that the UAW used to represent 350 members at the West Hartford plant, and it is highly doubtful they will ever represent even one worker at the Florida plant because Florida is a "right-to-work" state and therefore no person can be forced to belong to a union against their will or pay dues to a union involuntarily, so even if a group of employees voted to join the union, the remaining employees are free to remain non-union and can not be forced to ever pay one thin dime to a socialist union. Furthermore, the employer is free to actually pay the non-union employees more than the union employees doing the same work, as their reward for not joining the union and it is not even any of the union's business how much more they pay the non-union workers!

    Now that is freedom!

  13. What about the 2 Democratic constables whose elected position is to serve tax warrants on the rest of the public who are delinquent with their taxes, and these constables reportedly have not paid their own taxes.

    What hypocrites Democrats are!

    ReplyDelete
  14. Apparently in addition to surrounding himself with radical extremists, O'Brien is clearly fond of tax cheats too!

  15. I would find it hard to believe that the constable that is a partner in a thriving printing operation would be having trouble paying a few hundred dollars in delinquent taxes, especially since his party made so much of an issue regarding the huge business contracts they have with the city.

  16. The economy is in shambles. It's understandable that some elected officials might be late on their taxes. No one except the people who post on this blog seem to care. The Herald doesn't care either, otherwise we would see articles about it. Get over it, and stop attacking good people. Whether or not their taxes are paid has nothing to do with whether or not they can do their jobs. You had your chance to beat them at the polls and your numbers were dismal. The voters have spoken and they don't care about this issue.

Keep pushing it if you want. I have a ton of dirt on Jim Sanders and Lou Salvio that will make all your heads explode.

  18. The economy is in shambles because socialists in New Britain, Hartford and Washington DC have destroyed our city, our state, and our nation trying to convert our country into some sort of European socialist nation where hard work is demonized and sitting on your rump refusing to ever work a day in your life is rewarded with more and more free stuff showered down on you.

  19. What about it Mr. Mayor, how about helping Rha Sheen find his check book?

    ReplyDelete
  20. Maybe O'Brien should pay Rha Sheen's taxes for him? That would be a nice Christmas present to the taxpayers who are struggling to pay theirs!

People who don't pay their taxes aren't 'good people'.

  22. Maybe people would take the O'Brien Gulag more seriously if Herr O'Brien didn't tolerate 3 of his fellow elected officials simply ignoring their taxes?

Why should the rest of us pay our taxes?

WHY DIDN'T mR. McNAMARA CHECK ON HIS BACK TAXES BEFORE APPROVING HIM TO BE A CANDIDATE ON THE MAYOR'S SLATE OF CANDIDATES?

    ReplyDelete
  24. From what I read about Mcnamara, tax cheats are the kind of people he would likely surround himself with.

Didn't he also support the felon at the sewer agency, or was that another radical socialist?

    ReplyDelete
  25. People might take O'Brien serious if....

..he wasn't surrounded with elected officials from his own ticket who are tax delinquents.

..the way to avoid any consequences wasn't to simply refuse to show up at hearings and ignore him as if he doesn't even exist.

..he would stop trying to take credit for things that happened before he was mayor and were accomplishments of Tim Stewart.

..he didn't have one of the most radical extremist people I have ever met in my life as his public spokesman.
