Obamacare uncertainties explain high unemployment | John Stossel | Columnists | Washington Examiner

  1. President Obama says his health care "reform" will be good for business. But, business people have learned the truth of Obamacare. Three businessmen explained to Mike Whalen how Obamacare is a reason that unemployment stays high in U.S.A.. Its length and complexity of Obamacare makes businessmen wary of expanding their business.

Mike Whalen, CEO of Heart of America Group, which runs hotels and restaurants, said that when he asked three of company's health insurance experts to summarize the effect of Obamacare, "the three of them kind of looked at each other and said, 'We've gone to seminar after seminar on Obamacare, and, Mike, we can't tell you.' I think that just kind of sums up the uncertainty of what's ahead on this wandering railroad track."

  2. Obamacare is already starting to reduce the number of doctors available as some are simply closing their practices and going into some other profession to avoid all the nonsense. I have one doctor that stopped practicing and took a job as a state university professor where he only has to work a few weeks twice each year and will make more money than he did working night and day as a doctor, and will also get a 6 figure lifetime pension thanks to the generous taxpayers. He was bragging to all his now former patients that he should have taken a job years ago where he gets paid 6 figures by the state to virtually do nothing! He also told us that he would simply not be a doctor under Obama's socialist takeover of the medical field.

  3. Who in their right minds would want their health care to be run like the post office, the DMV or even city hall?

How can any employer hire someone not knowing how the government is going to punish employers next? It is much worse for an employer here in Connecticut than in the rest of the nation.

You are told you must pay sick leave whether you want to or not, and if you interfere in the employee's use of their sick leave, beginning next week, Danny Boy's jack booted thugs will arrest you because that paid sick leave is the employees property and as the employer it is none of your business how they use it.

Then certain employers are told by executive order of the dictator that they must belong to a union whether they want to or not simply because our communist dictator says they must. That's right self employed people running their own business out of their own home are now being forced by the governor (not by law, but by a communist dictate) that they must belong to a union even though they work for themselves. I guess since there is no employer to negotiate their contract with, since they work for themselves, the union is now going to act like their employer and dictate rules for their home businesses?

When you no longer have freedom to run your own business in your own home without being forced by the government to belong to a radical organization, there is no more freedom left in this country. (Just imagine the hue and cry had one of our Republican governors during the past 20 years ordered every business owner to belong to a pro business organization like the CBIA simply because he ordered it).

Yes we have become a communist dictatorship in this state.

While some states may still be free, Connecticut certainly no longer is.
