I don't understand the outrage? This money was intended by the liberals to be given out as a form of income redistribution. This guy was simply helping to redistribute it by taking it and spending it. Didn't he help to advance the agenda of the Democrats by doing so? So what did he do wrong?
I'll believe it when I see it. I predict that not one employee will be fired over this fiasco. They are all in a union and as such can do whatever they want with impunity! Before too long, the unions will probably tell Danno to stick his investigation where the sun doesn't shine.
Lib Dems get caught selling guns to Mexican Drug Gangs, who use them to murder innocent people, and yet they still remain in office. They get caught embezzling a billion dollars from private investor accounts, and not only don't get punished, they get to keep the money. Why should we expect them to get fired for this?
I guess his daily meal allowance wasn't enough for him?
All troopers get a daily meal allowance paid to them whether they spend it on meals or not. Troopers are paid $7.93 for a 4 hour shift, $11.96 for a 6 hour shift, $14.00 for 8 hours, and $17.02 for 12 hours. Just the meal allowances for troopers totals more than $3 million per year.
This is in addition to the fact that they drive a state car with free gas not only to and from work, but also for all personal off duty use, and get paid travel time for all time spent driving to and from work.
I can see why some individuals in this position might feel entitled to their fair share of food stamp benefits, don't you?
I retired at 40 with a STARTING PENSION OF $62,000 as a DOC Officer. My salary my last year was less than $52,000. Since then I have received 10 - 3% COLA raises. I was working after my retirement, but was laid off. So for 99 weeks I collect OVER $100,000 a year when you combine unemployment benefits and my state pension. When unemployment runs out, I still collect over $80,000 a year. I go to my doctor every chance I get since you, Connecticut tax payers, are paying for it. I just had $1400 of dental work done that cost me $225.00. I bought a foreclosure in Florida for next to nothing just to evade The Connecticut Income Tax. My vehicles are registered in Florida also. Not bad for twenty years "work" that was done mostly on third shift (sleeping), then working days on court trips. At one point I owned a lawn care service. I would pay other officers $100 cash to work my normal shifts so I could make $300-$400 a day for 9 months a year. This practice went on for years until a nasty divorce of an officer alerted the IRS of THAT tax dodge. Working for the DOC was..is..a licence to steal.
It's called corruption. Theft from those of us who live an honest life and put in an honest days work and pay our taxes.
ReplyDeleteMakes Me Sick!
I am sure Dictator Dan is proud of his troopers!
ReplyDeleteIsn't it about time they published the entire list of abusers?

ReplyDeleteYes Connecticut taxpayers, we are the suckers. Keep voting for these same fools that create and maintain this culture of corruption....
ReplyDeleteOne of Danny Boy's troopers accused of abusing the system? Say it isn't so, mein Dictator!
