  2. Coast Guard Academy May Ease Out Of New London.

NEW LONDON — The Coast Guard Academy may move some programs out of New London if it cannot expand.

The Day of New London Newspaper reports that Adm. Robert J. Papp Jr., the Coast Guard Commandant, said in an interview that the school has reached capacity along the Thames River in CT. The Coast Guard offered to purchase a portion of an adjacent park, but city residents voted down the sale in November.

Mayor Daryl Justin Finizio said that residents balked because they viewed the sale similarly to the eminent domain fight that small-property owners lost in the U.S. Supreme Court in 2005. Commandant Papp said the Coast Guard's Leadership Development Center and a simulator used for training could be moved. He also questioned whether a national museum will every be built in New London area.

  3. Kansas IS a right-to-work state. I welcome any business to move here to Texas, especially overpaid union environments from the North. I'm formerly from Illinois and will never put myself through that again!

  4. They will never have a union in Texas, and that means non-union labor is fixing Air Force One. The bottom line is that Obama knows that if you want quality work, you must find a non-union business to do the job. He obviously doesn't trust the maintenance of his plane to a bunch of union thugs.

  5. Texas would sooner secede from the union (again) before they would stand for FORCED unionism withing their borders. Unlike Connecticut, Texas is a free state.
