THE ELECTION FOR THE 24TH DISTRICT, VACATED BY REP. O’BRIEN!

The electorates'of the 24th District are being asked to choose a familiar face Rick Lopes an ultra-liberal and unworthy to represent our citizens because of his adverse activity over the years.

When he was a city Alderman he registered his business vehicles in West Hartford in order to avoid paying New Britain's higher taxes.

When the New Britain Herald questioned his adverse activity at the state capitol while rifling through the opposite’s party desks and also, aledgely writing adverse comments about Mayor Timothy Stewart on sate computers, the blame was immediately placed onto Greg Gerratana even after Greg spent fifty three minutes denying his having any part to this event while being recorded by a Herald reporter. This all happened while Lopes was O’Brien’s aid.

The Socialist protects each other no matter what.

It appeared that Gerratana took the blame even after being recorded in order to protect the Socialist Democratic Party image.

It continues on: when the city had the opportunity to sell the adjacent lot next to Lopes home, where he parks his business vehicles,to a neighbor, Alderman David DeFronzo moved to table the issue at the following council meeting.

The socialist protects their own has always.

Another candidate, former state senator Thomas Bozek, who has publicized his opposition to the busway and the adding of any low income housing warrants very little thought of electing this candidate. He was a candidate that ran on the republican ticket while claiming to be a good Democrat. Yes, they dubbed him " The Republicrat."
And now he is running on the independent slate and is assumed that he is still claiming to be a good Democrat. That's possible because he is still a member of the Democratic Town committee and possibly working under orders of his Chairman John McNamara to mess up the chances for a Republican win.

Peter Steele, the Republican candidate, offers straight forward solutions that our state faces and does warrant serious consideration to be elected to represent the district. He served our country in war and has the battles scars to prove it. He has a proven record of leadership both as a former aid in the Mayor’s office and the current chair of the New Britain Housing Authority. I strongly urge the support of Mr. Steele in becoming our new state representative.

  1. From the looks of it Peter Steele himself has essentially given up on the election. Why should any of us do for him what he is unwilling to do for himself.

I can't see myself voting for Bozek of course. Perhaps I will just sit this one out.

  2. What's the point in sitting this one out? 1 vote makes a difference.

  5. The way No'Brien kept referring to the demand his administration was going to make for a "labor agreement" it sounded like he was going to demand that they employ only union workers even though Costco is a proud non-union business.

  6. I'm going for Steele rather than the other two candidates. Steele IS stronger.....pun intended... get it!

  7. Lopes has a house in an S-1 zone in New Britain. It is alleged that he is using it as a rooming house for fellow state workers at the LOB.

I wonder why the building department has not investigated this. He also has more mailboxes on his house on Broad St. than he has apartments! ????

Lopes thinks nothing of breaking the city's laws and ordinances.

  8. I agree with your speculation about Mr. Bozek serving as a "spoiler" in this election to support Little Mack's radical candidate. After all, Mr. Bozek is a member of the Democratic Town Committee which is the governing body of little Mack's radical extremist party. Most people do judge you by the company you keep.
