If you don't think the commenter above is on to something, read the editorial in today's Courant. All O'Brien is doing is copying Gov. Malloy.
If any of our current crop of Council members even have a NB Charter and have bothered reading it, they may find that some of what O'Brien is proposing would require charter revision. Practically all that has been proposed has been discussed at length by a number of mayors. E.g., moving MEDA into City Hall.
If anyone has read today's Herald article on O'Brien's plan for job creation, tell me, how will this "plan" create jobs?
If Mayor O'Brien is for economic growth for the city of New Britain then why did he oppose Costco to come to new Britain and Picketed Wal-mart forcing them to move out of town?
I have no doubt that his concrete plan will be built on quick sand as he has demonstrated so far that he has not a clue what he is doing, especially if his assistant loses the little reminder note stuck to the wall.
Every communist society in world history has always collapsed in failure. Why would the brain dead idiots of New Britain believe they can succeed by converting the city into communism?
I wonder if O'Brien will now take responsibility for MEDA not finding a place in New Britain where Okay industries could expand! Certainly as O'Brien says there are available places in NB where they could have expanded. May as well blame Stewart!
Doesn't something like this require a vote of the council to approve it?
ReplyDeleteSeems like another communist style dictator is out of control with the imagined power of executive orders.

For Christmas, Sherwood gave him a copy of "RUNNING A MAYOR'S OFFICE FOR DUMMIES"

ReplyDeleteThe city is in a mess. Wait until budget time comes. He keeps saying he wants to keep taxes low, what is his concrete plan?

ReplyDeleteHave they begun flying the sickle and star flag over city hall yet?
