  1. Good for them! This is one of the biggest wastes of taxpayer money I have ever witnessed in my life and it should be stopped.

  2. It makes no sense at this time to argue that the Busway is a waste of money; sooner or I hope later, folks will come to the realization that you simply can't take money appropriated by the Fed. Government and say, we're going to use it for something else.

It's like saying to the Feds, we can use that money to lower taxes imposed by our spend crazy legislature, instead, or, use it for hunting black bears- as a graduate of the Univ. of Maine, I'm against that anyway.

  3. Anyone that thinks this busway boondoggle is a good thing needs to have their head examined!

  4. How about dealing with the issues that affect your constiuencies you two idiots! As a Southington resident I'm appalled that my senator is wasting his time fighting the federal government when he works for the state!

That is your money and mine that is being flushed down the toilet. If that is not a local issue, I don't know what is.

SINCE IT REALLY IS OUR MONEY ANYWAY, WHY DON'T WE JUST GIVE IT BACK? LOU'S ANALOGY IS THAT SINCE WE HAVE THE MONEY, WE MIGHT AS WELL SIMPLY WASTE IT. THE SENSIBLE THING TO DO IS SEND IT BACK AND CANCEL THE PROJECT BEFORE WE WASTE HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS MORE FOR A BUS THAT EVERYONE AGREES NO ONE WILL EVER RIDE.

To the commenter above; PLEASE, don't put words into my mouth and don't misrepresent what I write. What Mr. Anonymous wrote is his analogy, not mine. Please direct your suggestion to Mr. Markley, Mr. Betts or, better yet, start a petition drive to cancel the project.

Also, decide that you can't get back the funds already spent and, remember, the feds won't look favorably on other projects for the state, etc., etc. Do something besides misinterpreting what I write. It would be more productive.

  9. Lou,
Just like so many in the Democratic party, you talk like this is free money that falls from the sky like pixy dust because it comes from the federal government. IT IS OUR MONEY TO BEGIN WITH, so waisting it like toilet paper on a bus that no one will ever ride is like flushing our own money down the toilet. If you ever finally understand that it is OUR money to begin with, then you might not support such wasteful spending projects.

Can you honestly tell us all here that if you had to write a check out of your personal checking account to pay your fair share of this project you would still support throwing your own money away like that?

  10. With a president like Obama turning away pipeline oil opportunities, we will all need to ride on a busway, a train, a bike, hoof it. You better not turn your nose up to your future ride too fast. You just might be sorry for what you wished for.

And what Lou means is, the federal govt. is going to waste this money somewhere, why not have it be here. We can't give the money back or save our tax dollars all we can do is control where it goes and better here than there.

  11. I'm glad someone could tell us what Lou really means, but the fact is it is a waste of money and we need to stop wasting money like this and reduce the size of the federal government.

  12. Not arguing the point, you just can't control it. The government is totally out of control and being led by liberal democrats. The republicans can't get it together either. It has become each man for himself.

For the commenter above; Perhaps, because I put my name on something I write it gives all the " Anonymouses" a target to shoot at; that's OK but realize, I am not a registered Democrat and that I
understand the concept of, "there's no such thing as
    a free lunch."

For what I hope will be the last time; all of you fictitious people should do something besides complaining about what I write, call your congressman, senator, state house rep or senator, the Governor, and tell them you will vote against them whenever their names come up again in an election. Berating me in alias fashion is just so much "pixy dust."
