Let be reminded of the actions by the Democrats council membership when the sale of Pinnacle Heights $6,000,000 and the sale of Saint Thomas Aquinas $4,000,000. were turned down by the Democratic council membership our New Mayor would not have the necessity to have an outside audit since the shortage of funds would not be in existence.
He only has the Democratic council membership to place the blame.
So are we still paying for catered meals for the Superintendent and the board whenever they meet?
How about the millions we spent producing a television commercial encouraging parents to keep taking their free education instead of sending their children to a private school? How much did it cost us to send one of these DVD's to every parent in town discouraging them from taking their children out of the public schools--a move that would have saved us money?
Don't forget the hastily called special council meeting Memorial Day weekend when the democrats knew most of the council republicans were out of town. They passed the budget 11-1. Truworthy even went as far as adding more money to sale of city property even though there is no property that was slated to be sold. They now have the mayor's office, choke on it. Unfortunately we will be paying for this folly.
Did anybody else recognize that the auditing firm was from Stamford? Isn't that where Governor Malloy was Mayor for many years? HMMMM! "Who'd a thought!"
This administrations lack of understanding of municipal budgeting is dumbfounding! Why didn't they ask the finance department with their state of the art new financial system for an audit of the monthly books with respect to budget? Probably because the system is a piece of crap just like the Finance Director! There is money in several accounts at city hall to be taken to fill these gaps all they need to do is look. He needed an outside firm to tell him what he should know every month? Just more of the same blame baloney from this group of children pretending to do adults work!
Lou Salvio, The self proclaimed fiscal watchdog is denying he missed a deficit while on the council, and now is protesting an audit? Lou is either losing it or is so arrogant that he thinks he knows better than Mayor O'brien, the city's finance director AND NOW AN AUDITOR? We are better off with Jamie and Willy than this windbag. Its time to tap out Lou, time to tap out...

First of all, I did not protest an audit; also I didn't miss a deficit; not one of the four Council Republicans voted for the 2011/2012 Budget, only Democrats. To Mr. Anonymous, show your cards , you coward! Any time you wish to debate, I am available.

Maybe the mayor should run some more businesses out of town with radical protests. That should help.
