Sherwood Exposed

Phil Sherwood has no official status in New Britain; he is a professional troublemaker and lackey for any ELECTED OFFICIAL that wants a muckraker and a prevaricator to do dirty work.
Phil has absolutely no authority whatsoever to do what he does. He is not elected and there is no provision in the Charter for his position. Why department heads, directors, and duly elected officials and city hall employees allow Phil Sherwood to boss them around and intimidate them is beyond me. Personally, I am surprised that Sharon Beloin-Saavedra, at this time, is the most glaring example of Phil's intimidating tactics. I am incredulous that she even talked with Sherwood.

When Phil gets officious, people should simply ignore him or tell him to take a hike. The fact that Phil was hired by O'Brien is simply testament to O'Brien's ineptitude and the fact that he is an invertebrate.

  1. I believe that O'Brien's hiring of this clown is a testament to his (O'Brien's) acceptance to the fact that he is in way over his head and simply incapable of performing the job of mayor, so he hires a professional (I use the term loosely) lackey to do the job he simply can not or will not do even if he was the one that was elected to do it.

  2. Mr. Salvio,

Please correct me if I am in error.

If the Committee Chair refuses to reveal to the Board, in detail, exactly what was said at her private meeting with Sherwood then the Committee as a whole should compel her to do so. IF she still refuses then the committee has grounds to remove her as chair (for allowing and participating in said meeting), and should proceed accordingly. This continued secrecy makes a sham of the entire selection process and damages the integrity of our Board of Ed.

  3. Frank -

Can you change the title on this article?

Sherwood exposed is a nauseating thought.

I believe Lou Salvio would agree that you could remove her as chair - don't think you have the votes.

Since she is duly elected you would have a harder time getting rid of her altogether. You might be better off getting a load of people to sign a petition asking her to resign. But, Sharon is a Democrat, a really political one, and that makes all the difference in NB.

  5. If she was out of order, she should speak up or step down from the chair voluntarily, regardless of her party affiliation.

  6. Without a doubt something must be disclosed, discussed and then solved. What would have happened if it involved the other Mayor named Tim? Another police investigation? Demands of "transparency"?

Sharon Saavadera needs to address this before some people start looking for her resignation. From the printed accounts it seems to me that she is the aggrieved party.

  7. Saavedra does not want to address anything because her political future is at stake. SWherwood did threaten her Political career. Ask Carlos Pine.

Come on Sharon be TRULY TRANSPARENT for once. The public has the right to know.

  8. It must really piss you all off to realize that your tax dollars are being spent to pay a professional agitator whose sole purpose seems to be to insulate the mayor from actually having to deal with what O'Brien seems to believe is the great unwashed scum of the earth--what the rest of us consider voters and yes--taxpayers.

  9. Every person involved in the selection processes should consider themselves a member of the aggrieved party, especially those of us who chose Candidate Cooper. She has a responsibility, as our representative, to address this on our behalf also.

Re the comment quoted above; I tried calling Sharon and Carlos multiple times (his last name is, Pina) and neither returned my calls.

  11. They are following Sherwood's orders to (remain silent or else!).

Are they so political that they will protect him at any cost, or are they actually afraid of what he might do to them if they talk?

  12. The truth is there are about 100 citizens in the city who actually are involved from both sides of the isle. LMAO

The rest of the people haven't a clue what goes on around them and rarely care.

This is confirmed by their voting actions.
