  2. Did I read that correctly? Did it say that the driver was not charged because of who he is?

  3. My heart goes out to Roy and the victim's family. I trust the NBPD handled this correctly and the Newington Police department will be thorough and impartial.

    Prayers for all involved.

There is no need for the kind of insensitive comment above. The author has a problem or two ... , a
reading problem and Personality problem. To answer your question, YES, you read it wrong.

The article as written by the newspaper had a "period" between the end of one sentence and the beginning of the next! Get over your self.

  5. Does he have diplomatic immunity? If not, how does his job make him in a position to be "not charged"?

  10. Does anyone think there would be so much civility from Democrats if this involved one of the Republican elected officials, for example the former mayor or one of the Republican Aldermen?

  11. Let the Newington Police do their job. They are the only ones who need to ask the questions as to what happened. This is not about party nor let's not pull the race card, either, as suggested in The Herald comments under the article. We have two victims and two victim's families here and one has left this earth. All there needs to be is private and personal empathy, compassion, and sorrow toward everyone involved if you wish to comment at all. Truly, this is between the police and both of the parties involved as if this were between a John Smith and a Jane Doe would we even be commenting or sticking our noses in where they do not belong?! Really.

  12. Life can be a bitch when you are a public servant who chooses to make your life public. If you people can't understand that then don't get involved!
I can refrence many examples of when the media made mountains out of situations that otherwise would not have been news only because it was a relative of a mayor, governor, etc. Don't tell me this is not news as it certainly is someone was tragically killed in this accident. Let the media do its job and report the facts then be the judge if you want.

  13. Why weren't the Farmington Police called instead?

  14. There are not 2 victims, there is one. She died as a result of being run over by Roy. It is that simple. Tho you could say her family members are vicims too. Roy hit her, no other thing happened, he admits it. Just how it happened needs to be resolved. He is a nice guy, however we all can make mistakes, or do wrong. Rest In Peace Juana Diaz, wether she was sick or not she didnt need to be killed by a car
