It really wasn't behind bars. As I recall seeing the news reports of the former Governor out for his after dinner walk around the campus while smoking his after dinner cigar, it was more of a minimum security cottage. What we used to call a country club.
Who cares? John Rowland paid the price for his transgressions. All in all he was a pretty damn good governor, we should be so lucky to have him in Hartford today.
All these politicians seem to cheat in some fashion whether it's cheap remodeling jobs or fabricating an address to secure a paid elected position. The problem with John is he is a republican and republicans are held to a double standard while democrats get away with their crimes.
You missed the main point, and that is that the former state party chairman is working for the same campaign.
