Anonymous said... If you ever travel to Italy and the city of Venice is on your itinerary and you are of the Jewish persuasion, be sure to take a guided tour through the city.
The Italian verb, "gettare" means to remove, put out, throw out, etc. The word , "ghetto" may be a derivative of this verb. In Venice, There is a section of the city where Italians hid many Jews and protected them from the Nazis. It was a Venetian "ghetto" successfully hidden from the Nazis for a long time. This place is a stop on the tour. In many other cities in Italy, the same was happening. Similarly, many other patriots/allies risked and many gave their lives helping Jews avoid the Nazis and the atrocities they would inflict on Jews. Unfortunately our President Obama hamhandedly referred to concentration camps in Poland as Polish concentration camps. I'm sure David axelrod feels this was OK.
what does Poland have to do with Obummer?
