State Auditor John C. Gerragosian and wife Audrey each made donations exceeding $2500 each.
The Hartford Courant reported with their list of campaign donators that John donated a total of $4,500 with four separate donations and his wife Audrey donated a total of $2,900 with four separate donations also.
Since federal campaign finance law limits the total amount that any one individual may contribute at $2,500, and this is at the route of the case against the others involved in this federal investigation, one question remains: If the Hartford Courant’s report is accurate, when is the federal investigation going to focus on these two individuals?
Many of the newspaper stories have neglected to include state officials for thanking their Speaker with their family donations.

Isn't it interesting to read the list of names that would donate huge sums of money to this ultra liberal?
I find it amazing that a few of the names actually earn enough money to even donate at all.
The excessive donations seem reasonable considering the job appointments and lifelong fringe benefits that make life so comfy.

New Britain State Representative John C. Geragosian (D) resigned his re-elected 25th District seat for a plum $144.789-a-year job as Democratic State Auditor.
When the opposing Republican candidate dropped out early in the 25th District race, Mr.Geragosian still utilized the funds $$$$ of the Citizens Election Program (CEP) In his Democratic re-election campaign for his state legislators seat.
Might that be considered payback for such a high paying appointment, and since the auditors work for the legislature, wouldn't the speaker have considerable power and influence to hand out such a patronage position?

This story reminds me of the big job selling scandal that once rocked New Britain, only now it appears they found a legal way to do it, or did they?
FDR was opposed to public employees unionizing.
Some 75 years ago In 1937 President Franklin Delano Roosevelt wrote.....
Meticulous attention should be paid to the special relationships and obligations of public servants to the public itself and to the government.
All Government employees should realize that the process of collective bargaining, as usually understood, cannot be transplanted into the public service. It has its distinct and insurmountable limitations.
The very nature and purposes of Government make it impossible for officials to bind the employer. The employer is the whole people, who speak by means of laws enacted by their representatives.
So it looks like he compelled taxpayers to pay for his campaign ( a highly immoral act), and then took some of that money and gave it to the Donovan campaign ( a highly illegal act). A true Liberal Democrat from The Working Families Party.
Makes me ashamed that our ancestors belonged to the same tribe.
If you actually live in one town, but list a different town on the federal disclosure form, is that not a federal crime?
Deciding to become a corrupt public official is bad enough, but making your spouse a party to your corruption is truly despicable. Imagine what her family must think of him.
At least he didn't drag his parents into it so that they exceeded the limits. They did also donate, but at least theirs were within the limits.
The unions and their minions have equally supported the other Chris for a Washington full time job...Chris Murphy. Are the feds going to follow the money there also? One could only hope.
The same governors and legislators who "bargain" with the unions over pay and other contract terms are the very ones who seek their endorsements and campaign cash and man-power at election time.
The time has come to recognize and heed FDR- President Roosevelt's oppositon to public employee unions for this reason.

Public sector unions insist on laws that serve their interests -- at the expense of the common good.
The founders of the labor movement viewed unions as a vehicle to get workers more of the profits they help create. Government workers, however, don’t generate profits. They merely negotiate for more tax money. When government unions strike, they strike against taxpayers. F.D.R. considered this “unthinkable and intolerable.”
Government collective bargaining means voters do not have the final say on public policy. Instead their elected representatives must negotiate spending and policy decisions with unions. That is not exactly democratic – a fact that unions once recognized.
When polled, 60 percent of the Wisconsin electorate said they believed that a public servant should be recalled only for official misconduct. Official misconduct means lying, cheating or stealing in office. Governor Scott Walker has never been accused of that.
Scott Walker was on trial for his political beliefs, and the people of Wisconsin were smart enough to recognize that no one deserves to be recalled for that.
When you disagree with someone's political policies, you vote them out of office, you don't throw them out of office.
We find it impossible to believe that a candidate for Congress does not know personally anyone who donates $2500 to his campaign and what they might want in return.
Then again, this is how the Democrats work. They pass laws that favor specific interests: unions, trial lawyers, and the like. Candidate Donovan is Mr. Special Interest and will bring more of the same to Washington ?
Newly Formed Latino Coalition - Seeks Greater Voice for Latinos in City of New Britain.
Coalition Chairman Francisco Cuin, a family service worker at Head Start in the city, stated that there are three Latinos on the 15-member NB Common Council and one Latino Chairman of the Police Commission. We should have five members, not three, on the Common Council, Cuinon said.
The coalition's goal is to give Latinos a voice in their city. With representation comes respect, Cuin said.
His actions cast suspision on his parents' donations as well. They may have been illegal straw donations and need to be scrutinized, along with the donations of everyone else with whom he has close ties.
This scandal is much larger than what has been uncovered so far. We need to get to the bottom of it and bring all those who broke the law to justice.

The failure to recall Wisconsin Walker has exposed the Democratic Party for what it is, the party of public employees with one constituency: public employees, and one policy: get more $$$$$ for public employees.
The Democrats only pay lip service to social issues; the Democratic Party exists to raise taxes to give more and more $$$$$ to public employees.

(HARTFORD, CT) - Governor Dannel P. Malloy today, Tuesday, 6/12/12 announced the initiative that will allow communities, including New Britain and Farmington, to phase-in revaluations of property for a period of up to five years, even if the value of property decreases.
